⚠️ Vapes don’t belong in any household bin.

Vapes and e-cigarettes are hazardous and can cause fires if thrown into your recycling or rubbish bin.

These items contain lithium batteries, which are extremely dangerous when compacted in collection trucks or recycling facilities.

✅ Drop them at a hazardous waste or battery recycling site
✅ Never place in kerbside bins (rubbish or recycling)

♻️ Love your bike, but not in the bin!

Bike tyres and tubes can’t be recycled in your kerbside bin. They're made of mixed materials and can damage recycling equipment.

We see far too many bike tyres turn up where they shouldn't — help us stop the contamination!

✅ Ask your local bike shop about tyre recycling
✅ Check for rubber-specific recycling drop-offs

🚫 Keyboards don’t belong in your kerbside bin!

Electronic accessories like keyboards, mice, remote controls and cords can’t be recycled through your kerbside service — they’re considered e-waste and need to go to a dedicated drop-off location.

Putting e-waste in your recycling bin can cause contamination and disrupt the recycling process.

💡 Do the right thing:
✔️ Take e-waste to your nearest council drop-off
✔️ Check your local e-waste program
✔️ Keep kerbside recycling clean and efficient

Yes, you can recycle milk and juice cartons — here’s how it works.

Tetra Pak and similar cartons (also called liquid paperboard) often confuse people — they’re made of paper, plastic and sometimes aluminium. But through APR Kerbside, these items can be recycled and turned into something useful.

They’re processed into recycled packaging — helping reduce landfill and supporting manufacturing.

✅ Just give your cartons a quick rinse
✅ Flatten if you can (for space)
✅ Pop them in your yellow-lidded recycling bin

⚠️ Keep batteries out of your bins — they’re dangerous when disposed of incorrectly.

Popping old batteries into your household rubbish or recycling bin might seem harmless, but it poses a serious fire and safety risk.

Batteries — especially lithium-ion types found in vapes, e-scooters, mobile phones, toys, remotes, and even greeting cards — can spark when crushed in trucks or at recycling facilities. This can cause fires that put workers and the community at risk.

🚫 Never put batteries or vapes in your red or yellow-lidded bins.

Instead:
✅ Drop them off at your nearest supermarket or council battery collection point
✅ Tape the terminals and store them safely until disposal
✅ Spread the word — most people don’t know the risk
