Hi All,

I have had a number of enquiries recently for Preg-testing courses, both in NSW and the NT. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you all individually.
During Covid, while I wasn't able to travel and teach I took on a fulltime role with the NSW DPI in beef cattle genetic research. To say this is right up my alley is an understatement and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Needless to say between this, our property & the Kids i am now super busy.
As such, I have't had the time to organise any courses for 2021. In saying this I am still available to teach, the catch being that you will need to organise a course (8-10 participants) and location (property with vet crush and cows). If you are able to get this together I would be more than happy to speak to you and organise a date. Email is my best contact at present [email protected]
Finally I am still preg-testing, so please feel free to drop me a text or email if you need any done.

This month wraps-up a series of Preg-testing & Fertility Management courses I have had the pleasure of running for Northern Co-operative Meat Company (NCMC). NCMC co-funded these courses for Members, which were aimed to teach participants the skill of preg-testing cattle in addition to gaining a better understanding of managing, measuring and improving herd fertility.
Three groups participated at Bonalbo, Bentley and Murwillumbah and it was fantastic to see the networking, discussion and idea sharing between each group. It is great to that NCMC is making this training available to Members & I thank them for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it.

Seeking EOI for Host Properties 2020 in the NT
Do you have staff who require training & qualification in Pregnancy Testing & cattle that need to be preg-tested?
I am currently looking for properties who are willing to host courses in 2020.
Requirements are 200-300 cows in forward condition, workable yards and vet crush. I am willing to travel anywhere in the NT and can work around a date that suits you.

2019 is over & out, & I didn't find much time in the past 6 months to post to this page. The pro-longed dry season over much of Australia has kept me, like most, very busy between working both on & off our property. This work has taken me back to the NT twice in 2019, and all over the region I now call home. I continued teaching Cert II, III & IV Agriculture (Beef Cattle Production) for TAFE & took on a role with the NSW DPI in genetic research which is adding another interesting challenge to my career.
In 2020, firstly I am hoping for some good soaking rain, green grass and happy cows. Secondly I am hoping for a great year of doing what I love doing, which is helping you achieve good production results from your beef cattle.
I am in the process of putting together some dates for NT (obviously wet season dependent at this point in time), and NSW Preg-testing Courses. If you are interested watch this space over the coming weeks for further info and dates.

A huge win for highly skilled ‘non vets’ qualified in preg-testing.

LAY PREG TESTERS GET GREEN LIGHT IN QUEENSLAND ✅

Queensland has joined other mainland Australian states with government approval announced yesterday for suitably trained and certified laymen to join veterinarians in providing pregnancy testing services to the cattle and live export industry. 🐂

Previously only qualified vets could conduct preg testing of cattle or ovarian scanning for payment in Queensland.
