A Performance Solution lets you comply with the NCC without strictly following the Deemed-to-Satisfy rules, as long as you can prove the outcome still meets the Performance Requirements.

⚠️ Important: Not all Certifiers can assess or approve Performance Solutions. You need a Certifier with the right experience and NCC expertise.

They’re commonly used for:

• Tight or sloping sites
• Fire, access, or structural variations

DA or CDC – which approval do you need?

In NSW, residential building work is generally approved under one of two pathways:
✔ Development Application (DA)
✔ Complying Development Certificate (CDC)

While a CDC can be faster, it only applies if every development standard is met. If not, a DA may be required.

Getting advice early can save months in approvals and costly redesigns.
