My daughter took a shine to this while I was creating it so I finished it off for her.

#29
29 pink circles for the 29 date of her birthday. Pink is her favourite colour. The artwork was very flat without the fine white stipple circles over the top. Random in placement in a way but deliberate in how they touch where they meet.

Just experimenting for now, trying not to overthink creativity so it flows and at the same time making meaning through art.

Stipple is both random and structured and I am looking at doing more pieces incorporating it over time.

So many little creative projects on the go atm.

Just getting back into to some art.

Couple of recent pieces as I get back into some art/creative things as downtime. Little A5s done with markers.

Went to an art exhibition curated by a friend of mine. I can’t explain how much i needed this.

It was so refreshing to be able to pause and feel the art. Each piece an expression of someone’s understanding of a concept and thinking about why or why not it resonated with me.

It really makes me want to make more art. Use my hands, sit with my soul. I realised just how much time is lost doing life on things that have to happen but some that don’t... It’s time to find time to create a playground for my mind.

Project: LOGO DESIGN

Cam has been working in the building industry for a number of years now and has decided to go out on his own.

Cam and his wife Ash came to me with a business name, some elements that they wanted included as well as a vision of the colour they wanted to use.

Cam has worked on many projects including most recently a large scale renovation to their family home where Ash had come up with some custom ideas for the reno as well. The logo needed to reflect the idea of being able to to customised work for people. The hammer and I-beam pay homage to both Cam and Ash’s dads (both now passed) who worked on the tools themselves in both the carpentry and the steel industry. The hammer had to include a little nick out of the base to match the well-used hammer that Cam’s dad had (now a memento for Cam).

Cam and Ash wanted a logo that fit within a circle. The font for the word custom reflects a level of planning when customising, the font and lines of the other letters are clear though still quite fine in structure. The squared up layout reflects the structural integrity when it comes to carpentry.

The logo needs to be produced both on small and large scale across things like vehicles, uniform, print and the digital platform.

The logo works on any of the colours within the logo making it more adaptable.

Thanks Cam and Ash (C.A.T) for choosing me to bring your concept to life for your business.

Teik operates her own coaching and personal training business .with.teik and also owns .peak.physique with her husband Liam.

Teik has a strong presence on social media and wanted to refresh her brand using already established colours. Teik is fairly creative herself so had some ideas already.

Teik also likes helping women achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals and has worked in the industry for a long time. Like me she believes in strength training as a tool for life and not just a diet culture. She wanted her logo to reflect a woman with weights and we chose a silhouette that clearly represents a woman’s physique with muscle yet still feminine. Her brand colour is already established and we chose a script based font for her name to keep some lightness to offset the bold feel of the other elements.

Once the concept was finalised I made variations across the brand colours and formats to suit all her branding needs.

Thanks for choosing me to help bring your brand visual together.

Project: LOGO DESIGN

Dr Michael came to me with his business name already decided. Dr Michael believes that the spine health is the way to balancing your health and wellness for life.

The logos icon indicates that the body is interconnected, spine, nerve pathways and muscle structure. The icon is balanced above the ‘A’ in Balance as a pivotal point.

The font was chosen for it’s sound structure.

The colours represent some of his outside hobbies and the vibrancy of nature.

Dr Michael has opened and his suite is located in Lone Pine Plaza, Umina Beach.

Project: LOGO DESIGN

Ian runs his own business repairing factory machinery including large scale production line machinery.

Ian wanted a logo that represented what he did, that looked professional. He often has to problem solve to find solutions to get machinery up and running as well as ongoing maintenance for his clients.

We chose a block italicised font representing some motion with strong foundations as well as some iconography. The logo needs to be able to be reproduced on uniforms, car decals and for general use within the business.

Dr Chris of (formerly the Chiro Guys) asked me to update the business logo as circumstances had changed.

By using the existing logo from the former business (also designed by me) and typography it was a relatively smooth transition to the new logo. The branding that had been set up previously had established a presence and he wanted to retain this presence within the market as his location wasn’t changing.

The way the window graphics had been set up also meant he could swap out the logo and contact number also with minimal expense.

I am fortunate to know 2 chiros on the coast and I’ll be posting up the other one soon.

Client: CC MECHANICAL

Project: LOGO DESIGN

Steve has been a truck, diesel and heavy machinery mechanic for a long time and is finally going out on his own servicing New Zealand.

He’s known for his ability to problem solve, fix on site, reliable repairs and servicing and ability to get heavy machinery up and running again.

He wasn’t sure what he wanted when he came to me except to be bold and punchy with some iconography to represent what he does. He wanted text that has some depth to it but able to be reproduced on his mobile ute.

We chose colours based on elimination rather than coming in with a specific colour in mind and it needed to work on both a white and a black background.

Keywords: diesel, mechanic, reliable, service, truck, machinery
