Spring sunshine, open roads and the Flinders Ranges calling. This might be the perfect excuse for a road trip.

Point the car north and make a weekend of it, with La Prairie – Italy in the Outback waiting for you at the other end.

On Saturday 31 October, La Prova joins the Prairie Hotel in Parachilna for a very special evening of La Prova w**es, food by Prairie chef Billy Dohnt, and stories that bring together Italy, the Adelaide Hills and the outback.

Dinner is $175 per person and limited to just 40 guests, with accommodation packages also available through the Prairie Hotel.

Some events are worth travelling for. This is one of them.

La Prova is heading a long way from the Adelaide Hills for something rather special.

On Saturday 31 October, La Prova will join the gorgeous in Parachilna for La Prairie – Italy in the Outback — a one-night-only experience bringing together Sam Scott of La Prova w**es, the food of Prairie chef Billy Dohnt, and the extraordinary landscape of the South Australian outback.

It’s limited to just 40 guests, making this a genuinely intimate evening of w**e, food, stories and good conversation.

And our advice? Don’t just come for dinner.

Make a weekend of it. Head north, stay overnight, take your time and turn the journey into part of the experience. Accommodation packages are available through the Prairie Hotel.

For those who have followed La Prova, shared our w**es and joined us around the table over the years, we’d love to share this one with you.

Some experiences are worth the trip. 🍷

Join us at the La Prova Cellar Door for a winter Masterclass celebrating Italian varieties, with a mix of Australian and Italian w**es, generous artisanal platters and our relaxed Hahndorf Cellar Door atmosphere.

It’s cosy inside, the fire will be on, and there’s no need to rush.

Our relaxing cellar door in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills is open this Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2026, 11am-4pm.

Come in and take your time over a flight of five w**es served with local goat’s curd and crackers. $20 per person - Flight includes five w**es plus local cheese and crackers.

We can also whip up scrumptious produce plates consisting of local flavours, whether it’s lunch you want or a tasty snack: 102 Mount Barker Rd Hahndorf, South Australia.

Something we often take for granted in South Australia is the long line of grape varieties that have made their way to this continent.

They didn’t just arrive as vines. They arrived with people, food, families, memories, and whole ways of gathering around a table.
