Change is hard. It's the messy middle.
If you've been following me for a while, you would know that I'm in a transition phase.
I'm pivoting, evolving, transitioning.
I'm not one to stay feeling stuck for too long, and the desire to always improve and transition is a really strong one for me.
That doesn't mean that the transition process isn't HARD. It's uncomfortable, it's scary, it's full of uncertainty.
I really don't love the process, but I know it's essential.
It's essential for growth, for fulfilment, for improvement.
I'm also studying for the Change Management Certification, because a lot of my work is around change.
There is a change theory that I've known about but recently been reminded of is about the space in the middle.
That space of transition, when you are moving from 'the way things were', and before 'the new way' is embedded.
For my work to be successful, change has to be managed. Whether it's the way a team manages a workflow, communicates effectively, or upgrading their processes, managing them through the change is important.
The same goes for coaching. Whether it's changing the way someone approaches their values, their time or adjusts their boundaries to manage more effectively, managing them through those changes is really important.
That space in the middle is difficult. It's new, it involves extra time, understanding and compassion, extra energy and support and extra encouragement.
It's not easy transitioning into a new way.
If you are transitioning, pivoting or feeling like you're in that discomfort of change, where it's not quite embedded yet, but you're aware and working at it - then hooray for you.
I acknowledge how hard this is for you, and celebrate that you're moving forwards, creating momentum and transitioning.
