🎬 A special request from one of our favourites!

When Sean from Ovis Creative reached out about bringing a young filmmaking crew together at The SET Vasse for TAKE48, we knew we wanted to help make it happen.

For the weekend, The SET was all theirs to use. Young actors and production crew travelled from across the South West, Great Southern and Perth metro regions to take part in TAKE48, a fast-paced 48-hour filmmaking challenge run as a feature event of the Sydney Underground Film Festival.

With just 48 hours to create a film from start to finish, the challenge puts the crew’s creativity, teamwork and problem-solving to the test. As Sean put it:

“I think the biggest challenge is having only 48 hours — but that’s also what makes it so exciting. It pushes us to be creative, make the most of what we have, and share an unforgettable experience together.”

✨ Having Your Own Back ✨

What an incredible evening at last night's Inspire + Collaborate signature event, Having Your Own Back, featuring Olympian, Female Ninja Warrior World Champion, four-time Guinness World Record holder and entrepreneur Olivia Vivian - Athlete!

Olivia shared her remarkable journey of overcoming injury, grief, perfectionism, and self-doubt, transforming life's toughest challenges into powerful, relatable messages for us all around resilience, courage, and growth — while having us laughing, nodding in agreement, and reflecting on our own journeys along the way.

Something quietly powerful happened last Thursday here at The SET.

Regional business owners, entrepreneurs, and community changemakers gathered for an interactive workshop led by Innovation Cluster exploring the real challenges facing our regional business founders as part of the Meshpoints Resilience & Wellbeing Challenge.

It became clear that regional founders and small business owners often carry enormous pressure in isolation, facing not only business challenges but also burnout, overwhelm, imposter syndrome, loss of confidence, and limited access to mentors, networks, and safe spaces to speak openly.

Sustainable entrepreneurship isn't only about solving business problems. It's about supporting the human behind the business.

Together, participants:
✦ Shared real challenges facing regional entrepreneurs and business owners
✦ Explored what safe peer support could look like in the regions
✦ Collaborated on ideas to reduce founder isolation and strengthen local networks
✦ Created a Lotterywest-backed Meshpoints funding proposal

Huge thanks to everyone who joined, shared, and helped shape the funding idea. And to Meshpoints and Lotterywest for making this opportunity possible.

Morning tea was enjoyed and donations supported Cancer Council Australia's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.
