Today marks a big change for commercial solar in Australia ⚡

As of 1 October 2026, the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme has expanded to include eligible solar PV systems above 100kW and up to 1MW.

For WA businesses with larger energy requirements and roof space, this opens the door for larger commercial solar projects to potentially access upfront support through STCs.

If you've previously looked at commercial solar but the old 100kW threshold didn't suit your energy needs, now could be the time to take another look.

Talk to the Green Wave Solar team about what the changes could mean for your property ☀️

Big changes are here for commercial solar ⚡

From 1 October 2026, the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) is expanding to include eligible solar systems above 100kW and up to 1MW.

For WA businesses with larger energy requirements, this could make investing in commercial solar significantly more attractive by providing access to an upfront STC incentive previously unavailable at this scale.

If you've been considering a larger solar system, now is a good time to understand what the changes could mean for your business.

We’ve broken down the new rules, eligibility and what businesses should consider in our latest blog: https://greenwavesolar.com.au/commercial-solar-changes-october-2026/
