What happens if I engage Ruig Capital Refunds and the funds are not recovered?
If the funds are not able to be recovered, there is no fee payable by you, the Client, and you will be notified of that in writing by us.

How are the fees paid?
Fees are paid after the funds have been recovered. There are no upfront fees, costs or charges to clients. When the refund is confirmed, we will commence the fee payment process. The funds are deposited into our independently audited bank Trust account. Our fee of 22.5% + GST is then deducted with the balance forwarded to you either via a cheque or bank transfer – the choice is yours! In all cases, a full report is provided containing the known details of the source and nature of the funds.

How can I prove my legal ownership of the unrecovered funds?

Each of the various organisations we deal with have different documentary requirements. You will be required to provide certified copies of documents to satisfy at least two criteria: proof of your identity and a link to the last known postal address. This is required to provide proof of ownership of the funds.

Suitable documentation of a link to the last known address requires your name and identified address. These can be:

Driver’s Licence or record from your state Transport / Licencing department
A Council Rates Notice or utilities bill addressed to you at the identified address
Financial Institution statement (Bank Statement, Superannuation Statement)
Correspondence from an Accountant or Solicitor
Proof of name identity can be:
Driver’s Licence
Birth Certificate
Passport
Government Issued Identity Card
If the unrecovered funds belong to a deceased estate, a certified copy of the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration must also be supplied.

We hear this from many of our clients. There are many reasons an asset can become lost, forgotten or unclaimed. Reasons such as death, divorce, change of address or ill health. In many cases, some of our customers did not even know the asset existed.

How long does it take to make a refund claim?
Each case is different. In general it will take approximately six to eight weeks to successfully claim a lost asset once we have received and verified your claim documents. Complex matters such as deceased estates, trust or superannuation entitlements may take longer. Your case manager will be able to provide you with a time estimate following evaluation of your individual claim and will keep you informed throughout the claim process.
