It's been a year that has challenged us in many ways, but with the bad also comes the good. Now's the time to look back at this rollercoaster of a year that 2020 was, and be proud of what we've done and learnt.

As a nation, Australia, has done amazingly well in the fight against Covid, and we need to be proud of that.

In business some small businesses have had a year they'd like to forget, but others have had amazing growth this year.

What ever this year brought you, we hope you can see some good in all this bad. For us personally it was having all our children home for Christmas this year, something that wouldn't have happened without Covid. In business, keeping up to date with ALL the changes we had to deal with this year, and helping our clients through it all.

We hope you all enjoy tonight, and are managing to have a break over the holidays. See you in the new year!

We at FCA - Victoria Point, hope you all had an amazing Christmas Day, filled with love and happiness.

Just a heads up about the upcoming public holidays.

Just a heads up about the upcoming public holidays.

This year Boxing Day’s on a Saturday, but Saturday the 26th is only a public holiday in some states and territories.

If you’re in the ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, VIC or WA, both Saturday 26 December and Monday 28 December are public holidays.

For those in the SA and TAS – Monday 28 December has been substituted as the public holiday. This means Saturday the 26th is treated as a normal day.

We’ve got more info about Christmas public holidays here: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/about-us/news-and-media-releases/website-news/entitlements-over-the-christmas-and-new-year-break

16/12/2020

Public holidays shouldn’t be taken off your annual leave balance. If you’re off from Christmas Eve until after New Year’s, you’ll get paid at least your base rate for your ordinary hours of work falling on the Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day public holidays without it coming out of your annual leave balance.

Find out more about public holidays during leave: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/leave/public-holidays/not-working-on-public-holidays

For all small business owners out there:
(Taken from someone else’s page)

A client asked me how much it cost to do a job.
I replied: "$ 1,500"
He said to me: 'For this job? That's so much! ''
I asked, "How much did you think it would cost you?"
'' At most $ 500 or free, it's a quick job ''
`` For $ 500 I invite you to do it yourself ''
'' It's just that I don't know how to do it ''
'' For $ 500 I teach you, so in addition to saving you $1,000, you will have the knowledge for the next time you request it. "
It felt right and he accepted.
"I will let you know what you will need to get started: you need tools: Ladder, rollers, roller trays, brushes, paint pots, drop sheets, scrapers, filler, no more gaps, sand paper etc etc….
"But I don't have all these tools and I don't want to buy all of this for just one job ''
'' Well, then for $ 500 more I rent you all the necessary tools so you can do it ''
Plus, you need to buy all paint and materials you need for the job.
′ Okay ′ he tells me, Agreed! Friday I'll wait for you to come and show me how to do it.
'' I can't on Friday, I am busy with my work at the moment.
'' Can you do it today? No today I don't have time to teach you and lend you my tools. I can do it on Saturday.
But you have to be very punctual because I have multiple jobs to go to. I'll be waiting for you Saturday morning at 7 am to start with all the work.
'' Oops, no ... Buying these things takes too much time and more money.
_ You know? It's too early. I'd better give you the $ 1,500 I've already done my math and it will cost me more.
Remember You don't get paid just to do a job
It charges for: - Knowledge – Experience – Study – Tools – Instruments – Services - Time- Punctuality - Responsibility – Guarantee and Patience
- Payment of: Insurances, Workcover and Superannuation for employees, offices, transportation and more that any legally established business needs.
Nobody can denigrate anyone's work by putting the price they want, or by belittling your work.
It is an example of what you live for ".
