ISO 9001 is getting its first update since 2015. The new edition, ISO 9001:2026, is confirmed for publication this Wednesday.

Expect more focus on culture and ethical behaviour, a clearer split between risks and opportunities, tighter expectations around managing change, and climate considerations built into the standard itself instead of tacked on the side.

If you're certified to ISO 9001:2015 right now, nothing changes this week. Your certificate stays valid and you'll have time to transition once the new edition lands.
