Big week in Sydney so nice to be heading home to Wiradjuri Country….

Today marks a milestone I’ll always be proud of… 500 Family Group Conferences facilitated. ❤️

Five hundred beautiful families. So many different towns. So many different mobs. Every conference has been unique, and every family has had their own story.

For so many years I cut myself short and underestimated what I had achieved. Today, I’m taking a moment to acknowledge just how hard I’ve worked to get where I am.

This job comes with its ups and downs. It means long days away from the people I love, lonely motel rooms, and walking alongside families experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, and neglect. It isn’t always easy, but I do what I do because every child deserves to be safe, connected and supported.

The words that stay with me are:
“Thank you for your support.”
“I couldn’t have done this without you.”
“You’re such an amazing, down-to-earth person.”
“You made this so easy for me.”
“You helped so much with my anxiety.”
“You’re the best facilitator ever.”

Those words remind me why I do this work.

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to walk beside families and help create change.

I am blessed.
I am powerful.
I am deadly.

Here’s to 500 Family Group Conferences and to the many more families I’ll have the privilege of supporting.

Today we’re wearing our pajamas to show our support for children in foster care and the incredible foster and kinship carers who open their hearts and homes to children in need.

Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and secure. Something as simple as a pair of pajamas reminds us that comfort, belonging, and a caring home can make a world of difference.

Thank you to all the foster and kinship carers for the compassion, commitment, and stability you provide every day. Your impact on the lives of children and young people is truly invaluable.
