Septic systems don't usually fail in the quiet months. They fail the week the whole family turns up for Christmas.

More people in the house means more showers, more washing loads, more dishes and more flushing, all going into a system that's been ticking along fine for a household of two or three. If it was already close to full, summer is when it tips over.

The warning signs usually show up well before that point:

🚿 Sinks, showers and toilets draining slower than usual
🔊 Gurgling noises from drains or the toilet after flushing
👃 Sewage smells around the house, the tank or the yard
🌱 Soggy ground, or grass that's suspiciously greener and lusher over the tank or trenches
⬆️ Water backing up into the shower or floor drains

If you're noticing one or two of these now, it's worth paying attention before the house fills up. A septic backing up on Boxing Day with a full house is nobody's idea of a holiday.

The weighbridge update! 🛠️

The hut has been craned into place and is now waiting on its internal fit-out before everything comes together.

It's not finished yet, but it's close. We'll share the full reveal once the fit-out is done and the first truck rolls across.

Thanks for having us Intersport Wagga Lake Run and Ride We were proud to support the event with portaloo and waste services. It was a great event, and it was good to see some new winners take out the top spots in a few categories this year. We look forward to watching it grow in the years ahead.

That's a wrap on Henty Machinery Field Days for another year.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the site this week, whether you came for a bin chat or just needed a spot in the shade. Three days of dust, good conversations and Riverina people. It doesn't get much better!
