⚡ Delivering infrastructure that supports the transition to an electric future.
At the City of Parramatta Council, TSP Energy designed and delivered an integrated renewable energy solution to support the Council's transition to a fully electric vehicle fleet.
The project included:
☀️ An 82.8kW solar carport system
🔌 14 EV charging stations
🏗️ Extensive civil and electrical infrastructure works
📍 Delivery within a live operational environment with minimal disruption
While the finished installation appears straightforward, the project presented significant engineering and construction challenges.
Geotechnical investigations revealed deep uncontrolled fill across the site, requiring our team to redesign foundation solutions and install bored piers into verified natural soils to ensure the long-term stability of the infrastructure.
The project also involved:
✔️ More than 5.5km of cabling installation
✔️ EV charger foundations, trenching and civil works
✔️ Construction of inverter and switchboard facilities
✔️ Coordination across multiple contractors and stakeholders
✔️ Full asphalt reinstatement to Council specifications
The result is a high-performance solar and EV charging hub that helps power the City of Parramatta Council's electric fleet while contributing to its sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.
🌱 The project is expected to avoid approximately 110 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually through solar generation, with an estimated 430 tonnes of additional CO₂ savings over the lifetime of the Council's EV fleet transition.
In this video, TSP Energy Project Manager David Pugh discusses the project's delivery approach and the long-term benefits this infrastructure provides for the City of Parramatta Council.
🤝 We were proud to deliver this project alongside S-Rack, whose solar carport mounting solution played an important role in the project's success.
