πŸ”₯ Wood Fire Safety Reminder πŸ”₯
As the colder weather sets in and wood fires are working overtime to keep our homes warm, now is the perfect time to check that your fireplace, flue, and chimney are safe and ready for the season.
A build-up of soot, bird nests, or other debris inside chimneys can significantly increase the risk of a chimney fire. Regular inspections and cleaning help ensure your wood heater operates safely and efficiently.
βœ… Have your chimney and flue inspected and cleaned regularly.
βœ… Check that smoke alarms are working and have fresh batteries.
βœ… Only burn dry, seasoned firewood.
βœ… Keep combustible materials well away from your fireplace or heater.
βœ… Ensure ashes are completely cool before disposal.
A little maintenance now can help prevent a dangerous fire later.
Stay warm, stay safe, and if in doubt, contact a qualified wood heater professional for an inspection.
πŸš’ Wakool Village fire brigade encourages everyone to make wood fire safety a priority this winter.
