Hello, have you all forgotten about us (and your tax return) now that there's fun shows on and you're busy with 2026? We miss you! Plenty of people still need to send us their forms and docs for tax 2025. It's also a good time to get ready for March BAS... reconcile everything up to date, and then once this month is over you will have only a few weeks left to tidy up.

Started my first business at just 14. I was a sole trader, working as a Fairy for Essential Talent, and had to send an invoice to get paid. So, Dad took me to the newsagent and we bought an invoice book. It still counts, if you prefer to do things old school! But it might be easier when it comes time for tax, to use a software program like Rounded or Xero, which also track expenses and other income like bank interest. We're hereto help set them up or whatever you need.

Is this how you budget? In the spirit of progress, and not perfection, this is great! It's something. It's a step in the right direction. If you're running a business though just be sure to FIRST put away for tax and GST. Then split the rest something like this.

"Done is better than perfect" is one of my favourite sayings or mantras. It's not really applicable when it comes to tax returns unfortunately, but it is applicable in a lot of things. As a perfectionist, I do get self-critical, I waste a lot of time on nailing that last 1% of detail, and I have unrealistic expectations of myself in particular but also others. Progress is key. Not perfection.

International Women’s Day. Honestly… it’s hard to know what to say without it sounding like a corporate hashtag. While we’re celebrating women today, women are also being killed. Afar, and close to home. Shamed. Dismissed. Underpaid. Harassed. Controlled. Blamed. And expected to keep smiling through it.

So today I’m not posting a “you go girl” quote.

I’m posting to say: I see you.

To the women who are tired.
To the women who are angry.
To the women who are grieving.
To the women who don’t feel safe.
To the women who are fighting just to exist.

You are not alone.

And especially to First Nations women, trans women, q***r women, women with disability, women of colour, migrant women, s*x workers, single mums, and women living with violence or poverty... who are so often expected to carry the heaviest load while being ignored or beaten down.

You deserve safety.
You deserve autonomy.
You deserve respect.
You deserve to take up space without apologising for it.

If you’re a woman reading this: I’m proud of you for making it through another year in a world that demands so much from you. And if you’re someone who loves women: today is a good day to ask yourself what you’re doing, not just what you’re posting.
