The NSW SES Batemans Bay Team held Industrial and Domestic Rescue training session which was held last night as part of Tuesday's night training, aiming to equip our team with the necessary skills and knowledge to rescue entrapped casualties from industrial and domestic incidents, minimizing further injuries and maintaining evidence highlighting the importance of ongoing training.

Moving and handling training isn’t just about technique.

It’s about safety, confidence - and dignity.

In healthcare settings, teams are often required to support and move patients with amputations, yet many training programmes still lack a realistic way to simulate those scenarios. Too often, teams are asked to adapt on the spot, without ever having practised with the physical differences, weight distribution and handling considerations that amputees present.

Realistic patient handling training needs to reflect the people being cared for. That includes the ability to safely and respectfully train for amputations in a hands-on, practical way.

Our Patient Handling Manikin has been designed with removable limbs, allowing teams to simulate a wide range of patient needs - including limb loss - while also making the manikin easier to transport and store between training sites.
