🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE – NCC 2025 CHANGES TO FIRE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 🚨
At FEMS Pty Ltd, we want to keep our customers informed about upcoming changes that may affect your property and fire compliance obligations.
📅 What’s happening?
The updated National Construction Code (NCC 2025), including changes to the Victorian Appendix, is being introduced from 2025–2026. These updates focus on improving building safety standards across Australia.
🔍 Will this affect you?
For most existing buildings, your current fire servicing schedule will remain the same. However, you may notice:
✔️ Increased scrutiny during inspections and audits
✔️ Additional items identified as non-compliant
✔️ Recommendations for upgrades to meet current standards
✔️ Greater responsibility placed on building owners for compliance
🧯 What does NOT change?
Your routine fire maintenance (extinguishers, hose reels, fire blankets, etc.) will continue to be carried out in line with Australian Standards (AS1851).
⚠️ What this means for you:
While your regular servicing continues as normal, some buildings may require upgrades or improvements to align with the latest NCC requirements—especially during audits, lease changes, or building works.
