Tonga National University's School of Science and Technology has just graduated four electrical trainers, Fatuimoana, Emeline, Siosaia and Timote, from a 2-week hands-on solar training course led by GSES trainer Amitesh Maharaj.
It's the latest step in a longer capability-building effort, backed by Australian Government funding, which has enabled:
- GSES Pacific Technical Officer Sandip Kumar working as an independent consultant to support MEIDECC and TNQAB in developing a Certificate IV in Solar and associated resource material
- TNU sourcing equipment for hands-on solar training practicals
- Four electrical trainers undertaking online solar training through USP Pacific TAFE (PSETC)
- GSES delivering the recent 2-week practical training course
Four new solar trainers, one national university, and a training system now built to last in Tonga.
Well done to the four new trainers, and to Amitesh for another course delivered in the Pacific.
