Twelve months after completion, the Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) staircase at the Captain Charles Sturt Memorial in Loxton, South Australia continues to perform as designed, providing safe and reliable access between the memorial and the Murray River foreshore.πΆββοΈββ‘οΈβ
Designed by Wagners Composite Fibre Technologies (CFT) in collaboration with Magryn & Associates and delivered by principal contractor, Punch Manufacturing for the District Council of Loxton Waikerie, the project has proven to be a durable and low-maintenance solution in a high-traffic public space. π οΈ
Positioned overlooking the Murray River and town wharf, the staircase supports one of Loxtonβs most popular recreational areas, enhancing accessibility for visitors enjoying the scenic picnic and tourism spot. ππ§Ί
After 12 months in service, the benefits of FRP are already evident:
