A big thank you to Scott Palmer from Scott Palmer Electrical Services for sharing his story and business journey with the group this morning.

Scott's passion for his work was evident from the moment he started speaking. Starting in the industry at just 16 years of age, he always knew he wanted to own his own business. That dream became a reality when he went into business at just 25 years old. 🚀

Scott shared that the business is truly a family affair, with his wife playing a key role as his business partner and his dad joining the business as an adult apprentice back in 2008. 👨‍👩‍👦

One of the standout messages from Scott was that his business is more than just a job. It is a lifestyle. ❤️

That commitment to building long-term relationships is reflected in the fact that some customers have been with him for over 20 years, and he is now working with their children as well. That level of trust speaks volumes about the quality of service he provides.

Scott's approach is built on ethical pricing, ethical work practices and doing the right thing by his customers, values that have helped build a strong reputation throughout the Redlands and Brisbane Bayside community. ✅

As a BRBN member for the past three years, Scott also shared how the relationships and referrals within the group have supported the growth of his business. 🤝

This morning at BRBN we heard an inspiring presentation about Tour de Cure 🚴‍♂️ from Cory and Zac Morris, and the incredible work being done to help find a cure for cancer.

Since its beginnings, Tour de Cure has raised more than $177 million and helped fund 276 cancer research breakthroughs. 🔬

But what really stood out this morning was what goes into making the journey happen.

🚴 The training
💰 The fundraising
🚵 The riding
🤝 The support crews
🏘️ The communities along the way
❤️ And, most importantly, the people and families behind every story.

Cancer touches so many Australian families, which made hearing the personal connection to cancer particularly powerful.

It was also interesting to hear how small businesses can get involved as sponsors, supporting participants and following their journey throughout the Tour de Cure.

A great reminder that when businesses, communities and individuals come together behind a cause, the impact can reach far beyond the kilometres travelled. 🌟

Thank you for sharing your story with BRBN this morning and for the work you are doing to help change the future of cancer. ❤️

Luke shared his research into the impact of starting superannuation at birth and how time, not necessarily more money, could make a significant difference to future retirement outcomes.

His simple question really made us think:

As one of our newest members, it was wonderful to learn more about Jodie, Eugene and the valuable work they do through JEIR Queensland. 🏡✨
