Suggest it is thrilled to reveal the incredible winning ideas from this year's Ballarat's Best Ideas campaign! 🏆🎉 After receiving over 200 inspiring entries, we are proud to highlight the outstanding suggestions that truly embody the theme of 'People and Planet.' 🌿💚
🏅 Congratulations to the 2023 Winning Gurus: 🏅
🌱 Guru Gabby, Cage and Kyle - For proposing the establishment of a Community Garden in Sebastopol, near Phoenix College. A space where people can come together to grow and share sustainable produce while fostering community connections.
🐦 Guru Marty - For the idea of student-built nesting boxes for native birds, to be placed in local Ballarat schools. A beautiful initiative supporting wildlife conservation and education.
🧩 Guru Anne - For suggesting the creation of a stock of dementia-friendly toys at St John of God hospital, catering to the needs and well-being of dementia patients.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the heartwarming ideas of "Adopt a Friend for Aged Care," connecting younger individuals with those in aged care facilities, and the "Ballarat Native Garden Guide," offering valuable insights into native plants that thrive in our region and where to find them.
A big thank you to all the creative minds who participated in the third Ballarat's Best Ideas competition, which ran from 28 April to 19 May. The entries were evaluated based on positivity, creativity, impact, and commitment to implementing positive change.

Our idea givers will be rewarded with their choice of an Apple Watch, Trek bike, or Eco Escape voucher, each valued at more than $500! Additionally, the winning business will receive $500 to bring their idea to life, along with support from our partners at Federation University through the Community Impact Course.
We would like to express our gratitude to the esteemed panel of judges from the Ballarat Council, Federation University Australia, Crazy Ideas College, Committee for Ballarat, and an industry representative for their invaluable input in selecting the top ideas.
The Ballarat Council Mayor, Cr Des Hudson, commended the diverse range of submissions that addressed people, planet, and community needs. It is truly heartening to witness the positive impact these ideas can bring to our beloved community.
