Logix Group Protecting your assets... Specialists in marine cathodic protection surveys and design Www.logixgroup.com.au

Logix are committed to providing preventative actions and solutions to all your electrolysis problems. Electrolysis and corrosion can affect all types of vessels ranging from small to large, brand new to “well loved” fibreglass, wood, carbon fibre, aluminium, steel and concrete vessels. Problems can arise from many sources - we aim to find the source and rectify it. A well designed cathodic protec

tion system will significantly reduce maintenance and running costs of your vessel. Performance will be maintained with the correct system due to minimal marine growth. Logix provides a range of products relating to corrosion and electrolysis protection for marinas, OEMs and all types of vessels. Marinas can spend on average between 10 - 15% of gross revenues combating corrosion including replacement of pylons, concrete jetties and walkways, replacement of wiring and electrical fittings, maintenance and repairs. There are very simple solutions that can be implemented to reduce the CAPEX and legal obligations.

Electrolytic DC Stray corrosion is a significant concern, typically triggered by electrical faults or leaks originating onboard. This corrosion occurs due to environmental factors such as water exposure and electrical system issues, which can lead to the degradation of submerged metal components.

Understanding the impact of this type of corrosion on different materials is crucial for crafting efficient prevention strategies.

Not all anodes wear the same—and that difference can tell you a lot. ⚓

Uneven or dissimilar anode wear can be a sign of uneven current distribution, stray current, ineffective cathodic protection, or other factors affecting the vessel's underwater system.

Understanding why anodes are wearing differently is key to ensuring your vessel is properly protected.
At LOGIX Consulting, we don't just look at the anodes—we investigate what they're telling us.

💬 Have you ever noticed uneven anode wear on a vessel?

🌎 Earlier this year, LOGIX Consulting travelled across the USA, connecting with marine professionals, delivering corrosion education and training, and building new industry partnerships.

From New York to California, we had the opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas and strengthen connections across the marine industry.

We're grateful for the people we've met and the conversations we've had—and we're excited to see where these connections take us next.

More to come.

Let’s explore the phenomenon of crevice corrosion, a significant aspect of material degradation under investigation. It's common in stainless steel and occurs in tight gaps like threads or gaskets where moisture gets trapped.

Gaining insights into the effects of crevice corrosion on different materials can aid in crafting effective prevention strategies.

We're looking forward to attending the ACMG Australian Commercial Marine Group Conference this Wednesday! ⚓

If you're there, come and say hello to our team. We'd love to chat about corrosion management, cathodic protection, and protecting marine assets.

See you there!

The Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG) is pleased to announce details of the third annual Australian Commercial Marine Conference, taking place on Wednesday, 29 July aboard the SeaLink M/V Starship Sydney at Darling Harbour.

This one-day event brings together operators, suppliers and industry leaders from across the country and will feature a strong line-up of speakers, major project updates, the newly introduced Pitch Platform and the return of a dedicated Exhibitor Zone highlighting the latest technologies and solutions across the sector.

The program will highlight key developments influencing the future of commercial marine, including the unveiling of Control Point Group’s SUKKAGON™ ventilation system, the introduction of Scania Group Australia’s next-generation propulsion technology, alongside insights into the development of Aus Ships Group’s first fully electric passenger ferry.

This isn’t normal wear… this is stray current damage ⚠️

Rapid coating failure like this is a clear sign of electrical current escaping leading to metallic destruction.
👉 Left unchecked, it can cause serious structural damage—fast.

The solution?
✔️ Identify the source of stray current
✔️ Check bonding and earthing systems
✔️ Implement proper corrosion protection

This isn’t guesswork—this needs expert assessment.

📩 Get in touch with Logix Consulting to diagnose and fix it properly

Let's talk about OXIDATION—one of the six types of corrosion. It's a reaction to environmental factors such as salt, moisture, and chemicals that causes metal surfaces to deteriorate over time.

Understanding how oxidation affects different materials is the first step toward developing effective corrosion prevention strategies.
