Hi Folks,
A bit of news for all of you.
We’ve had to make some difficult decisions over the past few weeks.
Our lease is due for renewal in July and our plans were to purchase property for a new Specialised Industrial Coatings/Danger Noodle Engineering home.
Despite all our searching, we were unable to find a premises that ticked all the boxes.
Plan B was to find a suitable building for lease, we found an awesome building; however, the costs associated with moving, fit out and set up were just too prohibitive for a leased building.
We discussed staying at our current premises, refitting and making the shop a lot more pleasant working environment. Unfortunately we just ran into too many hurdles to make that a practical option.
So to that end, it is with great sadness we are ceasing to operate Specialised Industrial Coatings in our current form as of 31st of May. We’re not going away entirely, Danger Noodle Engineering will continue with some interruptions as we retool and set up in a new, smaller but way better home. I’ve tried to ensure that we will have enough stock to get us through the transition.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported SIC for the past nine years, our friends who helped us set up, and gave up their time when we needed a hand on bigger jobs. Our amazing suppliers, your support, technical advice helped so much, I’m truly grateful.
And our amazing customers, thank you so much for trusting us with your work. We have created some awesome things together.
I need to call out a few people specifically:
Geoff and Kerry, thanks for all your advice and help.
Helen, Allan and Grant Swan, I couldn’t have done it with out you guys. Thanks for every time you showed me how to disassemble/reassemble some obscure pain in the butt rifle, or bailed me out of a mess I made of a job :)
Lee Trengrove, Jason Swan and Gary Coveny, thanks for all the help with getting me up and running with all the CNC gear, I really learnt a lot from you guys.
Rodriguez Ramirez, Ashley McPherson and Zach Friels, thank you for all the hours helping me out, it really means a lot to me.
