What an incredible day and an amazing turnout for the Christmas Island Marathon, organised by the Shire of Christmas Island.

It was great to see participants travelling from across the globe to take part, alongside so many members of our local community. Seeing so many of our kids getting involved and enjoying the event made the day even more special.

A huge thank you and appreciation to the Shire and all the incredible volunteers for their time and support in making the marathon such a success. Events like this truly showcase the wonderful community spirit of Christmas Island.

What an incredible day! 🌟

We had the best time celebrating Seniors Week with the wonderful seniors of Christmas Island. The turnout was amazing and seeing so many smiling faces made it all worthwhile.

This year we had the opportunity to host a Golden Days Photobooth, where our seniors got to strike a pose, capture beautiful memories with one another, and decorate their very own photo frames to take home.

It was a joy to be part of such a special occasion. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so memorable. 💛

We are proud to share the latest impact report from our Adopt a Room partnership with Cancer Council WA at Crawford Lodge.

Crawford Lodge provides regional cancer patients with a safe and comfortable place to stay while undergoing treatment in Perth, bringing a sense of home to people during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Over the past six months, Room 219 has welcomed 26 guests, with the longest stay reaching 137 days, many travelling from remote corners of Western Australia to access the care they need.

As a company that was founded on Christmas Island, we understand what it means to live and work far from essential services. Supporting initiatives that bridge that gap, particularly for those navigating serious illness, aligns with our broader commitment to the communities we are part of.

We extend our sincere thanks to Cancer Council Western Australia for the opportunity to support such a meaningful cause, and extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated team at Crawford Lodge for the vital work they do each and every day.

What a wonderful afternoon at the annual CIDHS Alumni Function at WA Museum Boola Bardip. 🌴

It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces from the Christmas Island community and hear from some truly inspiring alumni. A special highlight was hearing from Shaun Goh, who shared his remarkable journey and the tenacity it took to get to where he is today.

We were also honoured to have Ian Francis, CIDHS Principal, join us on the afternoon after more than 20 years of dedicated service to the school. It was wonderful to hear from our CEO Nick Gan, Country Week coordinator Rhys Bird, and a huge thank you to our brilliant emcees Shiau Wei Chu and Archer Brooker for keeping the afternoon running so smoothly.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable occasion.
We look forward to doing it all again next year!

Christmas Island is one of the most unique and biodiverse places on earth, and supporting the organisations that help preserve it is something we are proud to be a part of. 🌊🌿

Through our Our Community Our Future sponsorship program, we were delighted to fund brand new off road beach carts for Island Care Christmas Island, which will be making their very first outing this Saturday at Dolly Beach. The incredible work Island Care does in caring for this remarkable island and its natural environment is something we are honoured to support.

See Island Care's post below for all the details and come along if you can. 🦀

As part of the day, the BBC crew will also be filming the beach clean-up for behind-the-scenes content to accompany the documentary, showcasing some of the amazing community conservation work taking place on Christmas Island.

🕚 Sat 11th July 11:15 am for a 12:00 pm start on the beach

⏰ Finish: Approximately 2:00 pm

This will also be the first outing for our brand-new off-road beach clean-up carts, specially designed to help remove marine debris from some of Christmas Island's most remote beaches.

A huge thank you to Phosphate Resources Limited for generously funding this new equipment.

Everyone is welcome. Come along, lend a hand, and be part of a great day of community conservation on one of our island's beautiful beaches.

We are incredibly proud of the Christmas Island District High School students who represented the island at Country Week 2026.

The dedication, effort, and heart demonstrated by every student who competed across debating and volleyball was a true reflection of the talent and spirit of our Christmas Island community.

Through our Our Community Our Future sponsorship program, we were honoured to support the Speech and Debate team by facilitating a coaching visit from Eva Hill ahead of the competition.

Supporting the development and growth of the next generation of Christmas Islanders sits at the heart of what this program is about, and results like these are a reminder of the impact that community support can have.

Congratulations to all the students, and sincere thanks to the dedicated teachers who supported them every step of the way!

We were pleased to welcome Danielle Heinecke, Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, to PRL Group’s operations in Port Klang, Malaysia.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to highlight the important role fertiliser trade plays in supporting agriculture across the region, and the longstanding trade links between Australia and Malaysia.

For PRL Group, that connection is underpinned by the supply of Christmas Island Rock Phosphate into Malaysia’s agricultural sector. Our Port Klang warehouse forms an important part of that critical supply chain, helping support reliable access to fertiliser products for farming communities.

We were also pleased to be joined by representatives from Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (NAFAS), including Mr Saripol Baharin Karim, Deputy General Manager (Operations), who presented to the High Commissioner on agricultural trade relations and the broader importance of cooperation between Australia and Malaysia in supporting food production and regional food security.

Thank you to the High Commissioner, Mr Saripol, NAFAS representatives and our team on the ground for making the visit such a constructive and engaging discussion.

New equipment has arrived on Christmas Island.

Our latest equipment delivery was transported on PRL Group’s Red Titan general cargo vessel, unloaded at the port, and driven up to site by our Mining and Haulage team.

Moving equipment of this size through the Island takes careful coordination, and we are grateful to the Australian Federal Police for helping manage traffic and road closures so it could be done safely.

Thank you to everyone involved. It is another reminder of the teamwork and local support that helps keep Christmas Island moving.
