The Birchgrove Dome Project: A True Test of Skill and Perseverance
I'll never forget this job. It was a private residence in Birchgrove, where we were tasked with removing the original dome due to its poor design and structural failure. The steel structure was leaking, and a Leadlight panel had fallen out, smashing on the ground below.
With the old dome removed, we had a fresh canvas to work with. Designing and manufacturing a new 316 stainless steel dome was just the beginning. We also had to create a new Leadlight design from scratch.
The amount of time and thought that went into this project was staggering. Adam and I spent countless hours designing the new dome, and Tom and I worked tirelessly to get the Leadlight design just right. We created three prototypes before we were satisfied with the result.
This project pushed us to our limits, but the end result was well worth it. We're thrilled with the final product, and we couldn't have done it without the trust and support of our clients, George and Connie.
A huge thank you to Tom, Adam, Mitchell, Amir, and Nick for their hard work and dedication, such a privilege to work with such talented people. And to my rock, my darling wife Simone, thank you for being my constant source of support and inspiration throughout this project and for the past 20+ incredible years. Your love, encouragement, and patience mean the world to me.🙏
