https://cullenwines.com.au/ Cullen Wines was established by Dr Kevin and Diana Cullen. Their legacy of caring for the environment and producing only the best quality wines is contained in three words, quality, integrity and sustainability. To this end Cullen Wines is now a third generation family owned wine company which is certified biodynamic, certified carbon neutral and powered by the wind farms in the great southern. The wines represent purity of place in that the now 40 year old vineyard produces wines which have no additions and are an expression of place. The wines are fermented using indigenous yeasts giving a true expression of terroir.

Bee update from Cristian Astudillo today !

"Just wanted to share a great update on the bees, they’re looking happy and healthy after winter 🐝 We’ve activated the pollen trap, so looking forward to harvesting some fresh pollen from the new season!"

We started our bee programme in 2012. 14 years ago and it has been a wonderful gathering of biodiversity , creating opportunities for better yields and quality of fruit and w**e. They give us so much ..honey,wax for lining amphorae and we are grateful mostly for the pollination of our Chardonnay flowers .The bees are near our Chardonnay vines making for beautiful connections **es

Yesterday we began our undervine weeding in the Chardonnay vineyard at Cullen Wines .Cover crops have had their first cut and now the space under the vine needs to be clear for weevil control and kikuyu .The next stage will be mounding the soil back over .It's a long slow process but nevertheless one we have had success with.We have tried many methods, chickens, geese, seaweed and the combination of cover crop and undervine weeding seems to be the most effective especially In managing the kikuyu. **es

Spring equinox in the vineyard today.Vineyard manager Brian Martin took these beautiful photos whilst making the biodynamic sprays before the rain coming over the next few days around the full moon on the weekend ..It's wonderful to see all the greens and this year the broad beans grown as seeds on our own property and planted in autumn have grown extraordinarily well fixing nitrogen in the soil and it's truely magnificent to witness .The Chardonnay crop is potentially one of the best and we pray for the weather gods to be kind .season is still dry and warm **es

23/09/2026

23rd September 2026 is the spring equinox ,which is the precise moment where the sun crosses directly over the celestial equator, marking when day and night are equal length. In the cellardoor Cristian and his team Esperanza,Sudhi and Alex ,are connecting to the equinox, by acknowledging the upcoming of Wadandi season transitioning from Djilba (season of conception) to Kambarang(season of birth) with warmer days, wildflowers and new growth starting around us. We are using the beauty in the garden at cellardoor with our floral arrangements, and aromatic sensory station as part of our new legacy tasting, connecting the w**es and terroir of Wilyabrup with fresh herbs and flowers from our biodynamic garden, together with the w**emaking story behind the w**es, and of course the beautiful w**es them selves .Come an join us in the celebration **es **es biodynamic -equinox
