So often, people think copywriting is just about being able to string a sentence together. Being a 'wordsmith' is a word often used, isn't it? Or people often associate it with formulaic sales copy.
I've never resonated with either of those ideas. In my experience, the most important skill of copywriting is being able to have emotional empathy.
Taking the time to understand people and how they feel and respecting those feelings, is integral to how I work.
So if you've worked with me before, you'll know I spend a lot of time asking questions before we kick off a project. And then, we jump on a Zoom to chat more. That's not just because I'm nosy, or like to have a chat (well, perhaps this is part of it, ha ha!) 😁 And, it's not just because I need to have all the facts right.
What I'm really hoping for, is to find the insight that's going to help me understand you, and your customer.
Ultimately, to be able to put myself in their shoes,...and understand how they feel.
