What could cycling look like in a more affordable, connected and sustainable future? 🚲

Join the Illawarra Bicycle Users Group (IBUG) for a day of ideas, discussion and inspiration at the IBUG Cycling Conference & Film Night.

Bringing together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and community leaders from around the world, the conference will explore how cycling can help reduce household transport costs while creating healthier, more connected communities.

Expect conversations around safer cycling infrastructure, access and equity, policy, affordability and reducing transport emissions — followed by a night celebrating cycling on screen.

Everyone deserves the chance to feel the freedom of a bike ride ❤️

Cycling Without Age Illawarra is bringing the simple joy of cycling to people who may not otherwise be able to ride.

Across two days, trained volunteers will take elderly and less mobile community members out on specially designed trishaws, creating opportunities for fresh air, connection and time outdoors.

It’s about much more than cycling — it’s about sharing an experience, building connection and helping people rediscover the joy of getting out and about.

Come and Try SWIFT (Social Women’s Intercultural Friendship Tricycling Club) for a relaxed social ride along the beautiful Lake Illawarra foreshore, followed by morning tea and a chance to connect with other women.

Whether you're completely new to cycling, returning after years away or simply looking for a friendly, low-pressure way to get on a bike, SWIFT is all about making cycling accessible, comfortable and fun.

Go the Distance, 61km of it 🚴‍♀️

The last of IBUG's supported rides is the big one, North Wollongong to Port Kembla and Shellharbour and back, built for riders with moderate to experienced ability who are comfortable covering longer distances on the road and in a group.

Briefing at 6:30am, rolling out at 7:00, finishing with coffee and the festival atmosphere at Lang Park for the Family Fun Day!

The Family Fun Day takes over Lang Park on Sunday 13 September, with community and cycling exhibitors, entertainment, food, cycling workshops and a proper family friendly atmosphere.
