Coincidently marking 10 years of our engagement with Tradies, for all things sustainability, as well as being a member of the Club’s Sustainable Futures Grant judging panel, Rana Environmental can unveil another step forward with the installation of a 200kW solar pv system on the roof of the Club venue located at Gymea.

This capacity adds to the 240kW of solar capacity and 96kW of battery capacity at Tradies Helensburgh, and 40kW of solar capacity at Tradies Caringbah.

And we aren’t done there. The Club is preparing to install an additional 373kW of solar pv capacity upon the Tradies Gymea car park, slated for a full refurbishment.

A huge congratulations to the amazing leadership team at Tradies, as well as our partners in getting these works done safely and efficiently for a final high-end finish.

Why we do what we do day!

Our client, Wests Group Macarthur have partnered with the Macarthur Beekeepers Association to build a state of the art beekeepers compound at Lakeside Golf Club, Camden.

The facility is open to the public to learn about beekeeping and the association members are bursting with knowledge and passion for their craft.

A huge thanks to all involved, and an even bigger congratulations for the forging of a new community partnership that is also great for the environment.

Rana Environmental has just completed the installation of a 100kW Solar PV system for The Builders Club.

That takes Rana Environmental's collective solar pv capacity on Club venues alone to 2,022kW, rendering the Illawarra Sustainable Clubs Alliance as the leading region in Australia for collective Club solar pv capacity.

And it doesn't end there. We have an additional 300kW of solar pv capacity on Clubs coming on line in September alone.

Rana Environmental’s long term client, Quality Green Group has ranked #1 in the NABERS SPI 2025 Office Energy Index, earning the highest possible 6.0-star rating — a benchmark for energy efficiency and sustainability across Australia’s commercial property sector.

The NABERS Sustainable Portfolios Index (SPI) 2025 evaluated 428 rated office assets, covering more than 8.19 million sqm – about 26% of the national office market. QGG’s performance stands out not only for its excellence but also for its impact.

QGG also ranked an impressive #3 in the Office Water index with a 5.0-star rating.

What is not captured in the Sustainable Portfolios Index is that all of Quality Green Groups commercial office buildings are also certified as Carbon Neutral under the Climate Active standard.

Coupled with the fact that the Illawarra has an average 5.4-star NABERS Energy rating, the highest in Australia, and Rana Environmental services all but one rated building in the Illawarra, it’s suffice to say we’re very pleased with our efforts and those of our clients.

Accordingly, a huge thanks to our clients for your continued trust and engagement of Rana Environmental to guide your sustainability objectives.

The official opening of the Wests Illawarra 364kW Solar Car Park.

Thank you to and for your attendance, officiation, and support of a project that has earned Wests Illawarra the title of the largest overall solar capacity on a Club in the Illawarra and amongst the biggest in Australia.

Also, to our friends at Smart Commercial Solar, Canyon Solar and New England Constructions, a big pat on the back for delivering the project.

And of course, congratulations to Wests Illawarra for the foresight to progress such a ground-breaking project and carry forth a strong leadership role in the community.

Wests Illawarra, our long-standing client and proactive force amongst the Illawarra Sustainable Clubs Alliance (ISCA), an initiative of Rana Environmental, has rocketed to top spot on the solar pv capacity leaderboard with the completion of a 364kW Solar PV Car Park installation.

Coupled with an existing 226kW of solar pv capacity on the Club's roof, the combined capacity of 590kW has trumped our other long-term client, and ISCA powerhouse, Warilla Bowls Club from top spot despite an impressive 416kW of capacity, which was at one point the largest solar pv system on a club in Australia.

The Solar PV Car Park has not only now addressed 100% of the clubs daytime electricity consumption needs but also includes EV chargers, lighting, PA, and security, and is completely waterproof, providing an enhanced experience for club patrons.

A brilliant collaborative project between the Club, Rana Environmental, New England Constructions, Smart Commercial Solar and Canyon Solar.

Commissioning of the new capacity elevates Rana Environmental's provision of solar pv in the region to a whopping 4.87MWh, rendering us the number one provider by a country mile.

And all this while a nonsensical debate rages regarding Australia adopting nuclear power when we have a perfectly functional nuclear reactor in the sky, expected to shine energy our way for the next 5 billion years.

Rana Environmental was successful in obtaining $134,093 in co-funding from Round 2 of the NSW Government EV Destination Charging Grants for seven sites, amassing 27 charging ports, and installation works have now commenced with Milton Ulladulla ExServos Club, The Builders Club and Corporate Square taking up the ball.

The EV Charger sites recognise the exponential uptake in EV's and the subsequent opportunity to create a point of difference to attract new patrons and accommodate staff. In return, patrons will be offered power at the same rate that the site pays for electricity, rendering a neutral cost outcome to the site and a cheap option for EV drivers.

166 Keira Street is the latest commercial office building in Wollongong to get a new hat, in the form of a 24.3kW solar pv system.

In hot pursuit of a 6-star rated NABERS building, Rana Environmental performed a NABERS Reverse Rating to determine the energy savings required to elevate the building from 5.5-stars to 6-stars. This process henceforth informed the appropriate sizing of the solar pv system without over-capitalising.

Thank you to Martin Anstee & David Underhill for including us in the buildings journey.

Transforming the Wollongong skyline one building at a time ...

Corporate Square, 43 Burelli Street, Wollongong has had a 100kW Solar PV system installed in the pursuit of a 6-star NABERS rating and significant savings in on-going operational costs.

It is a pleasure to be part of the journey and thanks to Knight Frank for the opportunity.

Next step ... EV Chargers in the basement car park.

166 Keira Street, Wollongong has joined the upper echelons of commercial office buildings in the Illawarra with a 5.5-star NABERS Energy Rating.

The building has leaped from a previous 4-star benchmark following an upgrade to the buildings air conditioning system and the installation of energy efficient lighting.

The building owner has now indicated a desire to pursue a 6-star rating, as well as Carbon Neutrality.

Following a groundswell of commitment to improve the star rating of commercial office buildings across the Illawarra during the last 24 months, we decided to undertake a review of the average benchmark rating for 2018 vs. 2024, which noted an increase from 4.4-stars to 5.1-stars.

Interestingly, one Illawarra property management group must not have received the memo as their respective sites have returned an average 4.1-stars, less than the average from 5 years prior. Excluding these buildings from the analysis, the current average star rating would be 5.6-stars.
