I’m always looking for a different way in. A different angle, a different layer, something that makes the frame feel less like a record and more like a feeling.

This one came through a ch*****ne tower at the edge of the garden — and the ceremony just happened to be exactly where it needed to be.

This Airbnb on the highlands made it quite easy!

There’s something about shooting through a veil that strips everything back. The world goes soft and quiet and suddenly there’s nothing in the frame except the two of them — suspended somewhere between the ceremony and whatever comes next.

Wedding mornings are full of noise and movement and emotion — but somewhere in the middle of all of that, there’s usually a moment where the groom is just alone with it. With everything that’s about to happen. This was that moment.

Tammy & Jono at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, followed by a reception at Nomad in Surry Hills — one of the city’s most celebrated restaurants, known for its Middle Eastern and fire-cooked cuisine, and absolutely not a typical wedding venue. Which is exactly why it worked so well.

These two did their portraits before the ceremony — a first look that settled the nerves, with the one person you most want to see right there in front of you before any of it begins. It changes the whole feel of a day. By the time the ceremony was done, the afternoon was theirs — no disappearing for hours of photos, just straight into the party with the people they love.

There’s something about couples who refuse to follow the formula that makes this job endlessly interesting. And speaking of doing things differently — the way this couple moved from venue to venue with their entire wedding guestlist is something I have genuinely never seen before. When Tammy first told me the plan I said yes before she even finished the sentence. Reel coming soon.

Mai & Jack at Bendooley Estate Book Barn. There are weddings that move you professionally, and then there are the ones that get you personally — and as a father of a daughter, I never quite make it through a dad’s speech in one piece. Mai’s dad didn’t make it easy. The kind of words that settle into a room and stay there long after the night is over. Add a sky that cracked open at sunset like it had been saving itself all day, and honestly — what a privilege this job is.

A few frames from last week with Rose & Josh at The Lodge, Jamberoo. All black dress code, effortlessly elegant, and a couple so wrapped up in each other and the people around them that the night just seemed to take care of itself. Their dog Onyx was there too — because some guests are non-negotiable.

“Let’s make this last forever.”

Corey & Lauren at The Robertson Hotel — two people so deeply, unapologetically in love it was impossible to look away. Deep reds, dark interiors, florals with drama and intention, and a building that leaned right into all of it. The kind of atmosphere you feel in your chest. Punk rock hearts in a grand old building — and by the end of the night, loud, sweaty and completely uninhibited.

It was everything.

Jasper & Jaylen at Worrowing, Jervis Bay — elegant, unhurried, and completely centred on the people in the room. The kind of wedding where you find yourself putting the camera down for a second just to take it all in. Great food, great music, and a first dance that came with a surprise nobody saw coming — turns out these two had already said their vows, quietly, in Las Vegas two years ago. By the end of the night, with pizza, espresso martinis and the people they love most around them, it’s hard to imagine it any other way.
