1. (Foot massage) Reflexology
is a natural healing art, based on the belief that there are reflex areas on the feet corresponding to all the parts of the body including major organs. Applying pressure to specific areas on the feet stimulates and works the body organs and systems through the reflex areas on the feet. Reflexology helps to clear out congestion, release blocked energy and improve circulation. It promotes the immune system and assists prevention against disease. It may help relieve pain associated with migraine, sinus problems, digestive problems, back problems, tension and stress.
2. Chinese or Japanese (shiatsu) acupressure and Deep tissue massage Acupressure
is an ancient Chinese and Japanese technique based on the principles of acupuncture, and involves the use offinger pressure (without the needles) on specific points along body. Acupressure is a way of accessing and releasing blocked or congested energy centres in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction across the grain of the muscles. It helps loosen muscle tissues release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep tissue session. This massage may cause some soreness during or right after the massage but one should feel better within a day or two.
