One of the most powerful intake questions an NDIS provider can ask is:

"Tell me more about that."

Not:

"Would you like to start services?"

Not:

"Here's what we do."

Just:

"Tell me more about that."

A referral call is not a sales call.

It's a discovery conversation.

Many providers spend too much time explaining their services and not enough time listening to understand the participant's goals, preferences and support needs.

Good intake helps you understand:

• What the participant is hoping to achieve

• Their support network

• Funding arrangements

• Accessibility requirements

• Risks and preferences

• Whether your service is genuinely the right fit

The goal isn't to sign everyone.

The goal is to create safe, sustainable and person-centred matches.

One of my favourite questions is:

"What are you hoping to achieve?"

Then listen.

Really listen.

Then when they are finished, ask permission 'Thanks for sharing your needs and background information. It's really important and I think we'd be a great fit. Do you mind if I ask you about 20 questions and fill in my intake form to complete the intake / assessment now?'

What's one intake question you've found particularly valuable?

🌱 Still in the Concept Stage? Read This Before You Launch.

Every business starts with a whisper —
a quiet idea that won’t leave you alone.

If you’re dreaming about becoming an NDIS™️ or socially conscious provider, you are not behind.
You’re not late.
You’re right on time.

The concept stage is one of the most important seasons of your whole business journey.

It’s where alignment happens.
It’s where clarity lands.
It’s where your future takes shape.

And if you skip this part?
Everything that comes after feels harder than it needs to be.

Here’s what matters MOST right now:

✨ Your why — the heartbeat of your idea
✨ Your values — your internal compass
✨ Your ideal client — who you feel called to serve
✨ Your first ethical offer — simple and deliverable
✨ Your identity as a leader — even before you feel ready
✨ A grounded strategy — not hype, not overwhelm

You do not need a perfect logo.
You do not need a website yet.
You do not need to keep comparing yourself to providers who are years ahead.

You do need clarity…
You do need direction…
And you do need a roadmap that honours your energy, your values, and the future you’re building.

If you’re sitting with an idea, feeling the nudge to step into purpose, or unsure how to start this journey…

You belong here.

💎 Ready to turn your idea into a clear, confident direction?

A genuine question.

Why do some Australian NDIS providers create marketing reels using American AI voiceovers and stock images of people they’ve never met?

If your goal is to attract Australian participants, families, support coordinators and referral partners, trust matters.

People want to know:

• Who are you?

• Why did you start your business?

• What do you stand for?

• What makes you different?

A generic AI voice and stock footage may save time.

But it can also make your business feel forgettable.

One of the biggest marketing shifts I’ve seen recently is that people are craving authenticity.

They want to see the founder.

The team.

The office.

The vehicle.

The community.

The real people behind the business.

You don’t need a professional film crew.

A simple video recorded on your phone sharing a genuine insight, story or tip will often outperform a polished AI-generated reel.

Because trust is built through human connection.

Not perfect marketing.

If you’re using AI in your marketing, consider using it to support your message rather than replace your voice.

What do you think?

Do AI voiceovers build trust, or create distance?

After 7 years of coaching NDIS providers, I realised something.

Most providers don't need more information.

They need implementation.

They already know they should:

• Network more

• Create content

• Improve their website

• Build referral relationships

• Use AI

• Clarify their niche

The challenge isn't knowing.

The challenge is doing.

That's one of the reasons I completely redesigned Startup Warrior Foundations business coaching program.

I added implementation support between sessions.

I created a dedicated coaching portal.

I introduced implementation support between sessions.

I curated a custom AI Geni coaching assistant based on framework.

Because the real magic happens between coaching sessions, not during them. Clients are telling me they love the program and they are seeing sales results that exceed investment.

What's one business task you've been meaning to implement but haven't started yet?

Trust is your competitive edge.

But it’s not what you say —
it’s what you consistently show.

Risk awareness
Clear communication
Strong boundaries
Follow-through

This is what builds referrals.
