Right on schedule, doing their annual lap past Yamba, Iluka and Brooms Head like they own the place. (They kind of do.)
Want the scoop on where to see them: https://www.myclarencevalley.com/stories/eyes-on-the-horizon-your-guide-to-whale-watching-in-the-clarence-valley/
Every year between May and October, humpbacks make the trip from Antarctic feeding grounds up to warmer waters in the north and the Clarence Valley coast sits right in the middle of that commute.
Some of them travel up to 19,000km. Which is basically Yamba to Alaska and back again. We're tired just thinking about it.
