"Oh Karen, we had an absolute DREAM wedding day and simply can’t thank you enough.

I'll be spruiking my story as written in my book Lifting the Lid ~ a memoir born of adoption. Come say hi and tell me what you love about it, or if you're one of the few locals who haven't read it (😉) you can purchase the paperback or e-book directly from the author. For the first time, I will have artefacts on display. What will they be?

If you know a young one in Melbourne’s west starting year 7 (secondary school) in 2025, let
them know about this. I’ll be doing another thing I love this Sunday, 19 January.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to illness. Anyone who has booked will be contacted directly. Look out for this unique offering to run in early December 2025.

If your young person is getting ready for their big step from grade 6 (little pond) to year 7 (big pond), it can be exciting and nerve-racking at the same time! Set aside a couple of hours to participate in a bespoke ceremony guided by LJAC manager and celebrant, Karen Ingram. This two hour workshop will incorporate creativity, music, writing and poetry as well as connecting to our natural environment in Altona.

$30 per booking (maximum of 3 participants including young person and up to two significant others). Materials provided.

Sunday 19 January, 10am - 12pm, Louis Joel Arts & Community, 5 Sargood Street, Altona. Bookings via https://events.humanitix.com/rites-of-passage-program

In the Melbourne summer of '24 I had the heartfelt thrill of officiating the wedding of Mark & Martin in a fantastic bush setting. After being startled by a noisy sheep which loudly baa-ed at me as I stepped out of the car, I tried to keep my cool throughout the heat of the day.

The ceremony was superb! Receiving photos and this testimony from Martin & Mark the following week was the cherry on top. I'm still blushing :)

"We can't express enough gratitude for the magical touch Karen brought to our special day. Her ability to craft an emotional and unique ceremony left us and our guests in awe.

Our hearts were truly touched as we experienced a ceremony so beautifully tailored to us, reflecting our love story in an unforgettable way. The gentle guidance and heartfelt words spoken by Karen created an atmosphere that was not just joyful, but very moving. We cried and laughed.

Our guests couldn't stop talking about how special and different our ceremony felt compared to other weddings they had attended before. It was a seamless flow of the ceremony and Karen truly understood our vision we wanted to create for our ceremony.

Her passion for her craft shone through, making our union more than just a ceremony but a meaningful moment that we will cherish for a lifetime."

A living wake.
Would you?
Could you?

I could support you to facilitate - with all my heart.

This terminally ill father doesn't want a funeral when he passes, but his daughters have convinced him to hold a wake while he can still enjoy a party.
