🇦🇿 Chichek Aliyeva - Suleymanova, 29 years old.

Veterinarian

Chichek works as a private veterinarian for dogs and cats and pets in general. Additionally, she works as a food expert and does everything possible to ensure food safety for the population. Chichek has been working in these fields for over eight years.

Although Chichek entered the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University very reluctantly and with the intention of not re-taking the exam for her desired faculty, as well as the efforts of the teachers and the exchange programs of university students with the aim of improving their education in Turkey, she finally fell in love with this profession, and she still loves her job today.

“Actually, I have many dreams, and my biggest one is to open a training centre to develop the veterinary field. At the same time, it is one of my biggest dreams to open a fully-fledged pet clinic." Chichek has already started to take small steps on this path.

Chichek is currently continuing her studies as a doctoral student. She completed her bachelor's and master's studies in veterinary medicine.

The difficulties that Chichek suffered, in the beginning stemmed from the way in which female veterinarians were viewed in the society in Azerbaijan. Despite these difficulties, her love for this field strengthened her to withstand these challenges.

Chichek represented Azerbaijan at events in the USA, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, China and many other countries. At the same time, she participated in the projects of international organisations multiple times. She regularly made speeches in the mass media on the protection of animal welfare, protection of animal health and safe food supply.

Mimina Javadova, 27.

Policy Escalation Specialist at YouTube.

Her current team ensures that YouTube remains a safe place for its users, viewers and creators. Prior to this role, she was working in Google Ads and supported major advertising agencies. As part of her personprojects within Google, she is devoted to helping students discover their talents and nail their interviews. She has organised numerous workshops and presented at various career events.
“I remember representing Google at a career fair in Lisbon 3 years ago, where local students would literally turn away when they heard that there are no open positions within Google Portugal. At the time I did not understand this. I mean, look at me, I moved to Poland (not knowing the country or the language) just to start with Google. They, on the other hand, were not ready to give away their lives by the ocean and under the sun almost all year round. Moving countries just for landing a better job was simply not worth it.”
Since Baku, she’s lived in Wrocław, Dublin and just recently moved to London. “Each of these cities has its special place in my heart. Each corresponds to a certain period of my life and is full of dearest memories. Moving is so often romanticized and is perceived as something easy and fun. Obviously, it’s not all moonlight and roses. Despite all the difficulties and unpredictable problems that go with it, I love moving and enjoy setting up a cozy home wherever I go.”
Mimina is looking forward to spring and exploring blossoming London together with her husband. “With all the moving around, one thing is non-negotiable: visiting my family back home. I’m conscious of everything I’m missing out while living abroad, so I never take it for granted.”

Gandab Poladova, 28 years old.

Teacher, photographer and videographer

Gandab graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Baku Slavic University. Gandab dreamed of becoming a teacher since childhood and by becoming one she fulfilled her childhood dream. She has worked as a teacher in a private school for 5 years. The main reason for choosing this profession was her love for children. She always tried to teach her students to become exemplary individuals and most importantly to keep vital human qualities.

After realising her childhood dream, Gandab decided that it was time to realise her other dream. Gandab’s passion for photography started more than 9 years ago and she has been shooting since then. She started by shooting landscapes and street photography, then went on to shooting and filming content for social media platforms.

For Gandab, photography is not just a picture, photography is an art that depicts the human soul and the photographer's inner world. "My goal is to promote our country in the most beautiful way. I reflect the shots I took on printed postcards and magnets." It is already attracting a lot of interest from many locals as well as tourists. Her photos of Balakhani (District of Baku), which she took in 2020, went viral on social media platforms. Inspired by her page, tourists from several countries have come to Azerbaijan, and knowing thus makes her very proud. Showcasing Azerbaijan is special for her and brings her happiness. Recently she has started creating content for new and existing places in and around Baku.

Intuitive Coach, Rapid Personal Transformation therapist at .az and the founder of Mandala Women Circle.

Mandala Women Circle is a first women circle in Azerbaijan to hold ceremonies like Red Tent, Menarche Celebration for women of all ages. It is an online place where women come together to open hearts, share and celebrate their stories, vulnerabilities and light the paths of each other. Women practice meditation, Tao Energetic exercises, spiritual practices and gather at circle meetings. Each month focuses on certain topic. Gulnar’s selfhelp.az serves thousands of people in finding their routes in awakening the light within.

Gulnar was the first who opened the Red Tent in Azerbaijan with its true ancient traditions and touch of local culture. The Red Tent is thousands years old tradition where women come together to celebrate their nature, support each other, share their stories and welcome girls into womenhood. It has been practiced in many cultures under different names. The Red Tent name based on Anita Diamant’s historical novel.

“I’ve been in self help field for over 14 years. I’ve been fortunate to work in the positions from University Lecturer to Learning and Development Manager at luxury hotels which gave me opportunity to meet hundreds of people. Each of them touched me in certain way and I touched their souls. By observing their behavioural patterns, lifestyles and family traditions and reflecting my own experiences I became confident to start helping others in this luminious path of life. My mission became to help women to rejoin with their true female nature, to be aware of their inner strength, lit their little candles in hearts and give them tools live their lives fully”.

With MA in Phylology I decided to go deep in psycho therapy and natural energy sciences and was fortunate to be educated by David Router, Aleksandra Doran and other respected specialists.

Gulnar is now living in the UK with her family. She has many on going projects like establishing the retreat centre for all, expanding Mandala Women Circle around the world and Red Tent traditions to be accessible to every single woman in our society.
