⚡On the occasion of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting, successfully concluded two intensive and highly productive days dedicated to .
On the margins of the ministerial meetings, we organized a high-level Energy Breakfast bringing together leading German and Azerbaijani energy companies.
Nargis Wieck, Executive Director of AHK Azerbaijan, highlighted that is one of AHK Azerbaijan’s key focus areas and noted that the Chamber has already implemented several concrete initiatives, including the Energy Cluster. Looking ahead, she announced upcoming activities such as the German Pavilion at Baku Energy Week, accompanied by side events on energy storage technologies and sustainable fuels, as well as a Financing Conference on connectivity with a focus on energy, planned for 6 October 2026 in Baku.
H.E. Dr. Ralf Horlemann, Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan, highlighted Azerbaijan’s ongoing energy transition and the growing potential for bilateral cooperation, encouraging further international promotion of Azerbaijan’s energy market. 🇩🇪🇦🇿
🤝 German companies VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH, Siemens Energy, and Uniper, together with Azerbaijani partners, including SOCAR Green, Azerbaijan Green Energy Company, Nobel Energy, Green Energy Corridor Power Company, and others, discussed concrete cooperation projects and upcoming joint initiatives. Azerbaijani companies also presented projects and cooperation opportunities with German partners in natural gas, renewable energy, hydrogen, and electricity.
A central highlight of the first day was the meeting with Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy (Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan), where companies presented their positions and outlined concrete proposals for cooperation, reinforcing dialogue at the highest sectoral level.
On the second day, AHK Azerbaijan participated in the official Ministerial Meeting held in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, as well as in the EU–Azerbaijan Green Connectivity Investment Roundtable. The Roundtable brought together senior representatives of the Government of Azerbaijan and the European Commission to advance cooperation on renewable energy deployment, electricity grid modernization, green hydrogen development, energy efficiency, and sustainable investment mechanisms aimed at strengthening regional connectivity between the and .
Discussions also included an exchange with Anar Akhundov, Deputy Minister of Economy (Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan), further strengthening institutional cooperation and identifying practical opportunities to facilitate German business engagement in Azerbaijan’s evolving energy and connectivity landscape.
