Dzejla Glavovic-Ocuz was the first Bosnian to win one of the major international beauty pageants. In 2002, in the second edition of Miss Earth,Dzejla dominated the competition and was crowned Miss Earth. That is also the biggest success for Bosnia in the history of beauty pageants. She opened doors of success in Miss Earth for all Bosnian girls,and later Sanja Susnja was in the top 16 in 2005, and just a year after, Bozena Jelcic repeated her success and also placed in the top 16.
After that, the most successful was Aleksandra Kovacevic, who placed herself in the top 8, and her latest placement for Bosnia was in 2017 when Jelena Karagic placed in the top 16.
