The Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry or the ‘Commercial Hall’ as it was called initially, was founded in 1825. Without a doubt, the Chamber has been the single most powerful channel for promoting positive economic growth for both commercial and industrial businesses in Barbados. It continues to provide members with focused leadership and a strong voice to promote the interests of the business community. It has stood the test of time and continues to influence the social, economic and business structures that lend to the creation of an environment that bolsters and encourages sustainable economic progress for the country

We are seeking a strategic, governance-minded, and execution-focused leader to drive advocacy, financial sustainability, and private-sector growth in Barbados.

💼 What We Are Looking For:
• Master’s degree + 5 years OR Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of senior/executive management experience.
• Proven expertise in strategic implementation, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
• Background in business, economics, law, public policy, or finance.
• Legal entitlement to work in Barbados.

Media Statement: BCCI STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF THE RIGHT EXCELLENT SIR GARFIELD SOBERS

On behalf of the Council and entire membership of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of The Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers, National Hero of Barbados.

Sir Garry’s passing is a profound loss to Barbados, the Caribbean and the international sporting community.

Widely regarded as one of cricket’s greatest all-rounders, he carried the name of Barbados with distinction and became an enduring symbol of excellence and national pride. His extraordinary achievements inspired generations and demonstrated the impact that a Barbadian could make on the world stage.

As we mourn the loss of one of our nation’s greatest sons, we celebrate a remarkable life and an enduring legacy.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends and the wider cricketing fraternity.

May he rest in peace.
