East Point Lighthouse also know as Ragged point Lighthouse. This is the start of the restoration Project Sponsored by Hinds Transport Services Inc Mr Dave Hinds. The roof of the structure was falling in, no floors were left removed by others over time, walls of lighthouse were crumbling due to wind and salt erosion, The Brass vent fittings were removed by looters and the rotating parts of the lamps only one remained as it was blocked by a steel ladder. The Wrought hand railing on the exterior had all but disappeared due to lack of maintenance. The structure of the cottage was being destroyed by large ficus trees growing into the building and all the wooded lintels were failing. You can see some arches have fallen and the wall severly cracked. The lime plaster holding the structure together was being was out of the joints due to a lack of a roof and gutter system and heavy slat and wind erosion.
