We pause to honour the life and legacy of Dr. Shelly-Ann Cox, Chief Fisheries Officer of Barbados, whose work, leadership, and vision left an indelible mark on the fisheries sector and the wider Blue Economy.
Dr. Cox was a passionate advocate for sustainable development, innovation, youth engagement, and collaboration. Through her partnership with numerous stakeholders across Barbados and the region, she championed initiatives that strengthened our understanding and stewardship of marine resources while creating opportunities for future generations.
We were privileged to collaborate with Dr. Cox and witness firsthand her commitment to progress, her generosity in sharing knowledge, and her unwavering dedication to the people and industries she served.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her life and work.
May her legacy continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.
