This Flamboyant tree, which is also called the red Poinciana caught my attention as I made a detour around the St. Lukes/Brighton area. The Saturday morning farmers market coffee drinkers were just packing up.

When I read the article on the back page of today's Nation Newspaper, (06.06.23),I could not resist letting out a deep belly laugh. I went to my library and took down my copy of "Central Banking in theory and practice" by the late Sir Courtney Blackman, the CBB's first Governor. As I read it, I laughed even more. Who says that politics in small islands isn't funny? After all, politicians are a bunch of jokers. I think that I will write an article about the CBB Annual Report 2022, but not before I have read Delisle Worrell's new book.

In times like these we all need a good laugh!

The Central Bank of Barbados' 2022 Annual Report, "Living the Legacy: Continuing the Journey," has been published.

Who cares, if unawares, events at Lears, confirms our fears that the terminal there, will be terminal here, and a terrible boondoggle to boot? But I don't give a damn for I won't get ham, now the pigs have gone through the chute... fuh troot!

This is the same yellow poui tree that I photographed both when it was in bloom, and after the flowers had fallen, about a month ago.

I saw it this morning, and I could hardly believe my eyes. It makes me want to write a poem about rejuvenation, which, as an old man, is a consummation that I desire... devoutly!

Some key events can become unkeyed if the planning is poor.

Word is that the recent sudden heavy rains in certain parts of the Island have caused a number of houses, as well as the reputation of Minister Light Sillyman to experience some slippage.

Residents have discovered that when a hand-over becomes a take-back, the wild and windy night that the rain blew away, can leave them full of tears waiting for the day when this current BLP administration will cease to exist.

However, an old fella who has learned how to hoist himself on his own petard is advising them to hold strain... but not their breath!!
