Recently, ARGO’s Málaga team attended the Marbella Construction Fair to explore the latest innovations and solutions in the industry.

During the event, we visited booths focused on façade systems, stone finishes, pool and drainage design, modular formwork solutions, prefabricated and modular steel structures, and advanced exterior glazing systems. These solutions are fully aligned with our vision of delivering MMC (Modern Methods of Construction), where projects are designed and coordinated in advance through BIM models to reduce on-site coordination, improve efficiency, and reduce both construction time and costs by up to 30%.

One of the highlights was discovering exterior glazing systems capable of spanning up to 6 meters while complying with both Spanish and Miami regulations, making them ideal for international and Caribbean projects.

Last month, Argo Development Studio Málaga Office had the pleasure of welcoming our ARGO colleague, Architect Ksenia Alontseva from Milan.

During her visit, she had the opportunity to meet in person with the Málaga team members she collaborates with daily across several projects. Spending the week together in the office allowed us to strengthen teamwork, exchange ideas, and build even stronger connections beyond virtual collaboration.

Outside of work, the team also enjoyed showing her the city, culture, and atmosphere of Málaga, creating great memories together and reinforcing the strong relationships that make our international team so valuable.

Argo Development Studio has officially kicked off a new residential redevelopment project in Barbados with our China-based client.

The client visit included an on-site kickoff meeting with the project team, followed by coordination sessions at our office to review samples, procurement, and other key project details as we move into the next stages together.

As Architect and Procurement Lead, ARGO leverages our Procurement Hub in Nanjing, China, to work directly with manufacturers and suppliers. Acting as a bridge between international vendors and the local contractor, ARGO will be coordinating sourcing, procurement, and construction activities to help ensure seamless alignment throughout project delivery.

Argo Development Studio’s Málaga Office Studio Leader Rodrigo Carreño Alcántara recently attended the 5th Annual Meeting of BIM Users Andalucía, organized by guBIMand Grupo Usuarios BIM Andalucia, where key topics shaping the future of our industry were discussed.

Events like this are essential for ARGO. They allow us to stay up to date with the latest developments in BIM, continuously improving our processes to deliver more efficient, cost-effective solutions while minimizing issues on site.

Among the highlights were discussions on the growing role of industrialized construction and its feasibility through BIM methodologies, as well as the integration of BIM into the planning sector to streamline permitting processes and improve timelines.

Beyond the insightful sessions, the event also provided a great opportunity to connect with fellow BIM professionals and share experiences with colleagues who are equally passionate about innovation in our field.

Argo Development Studio’s Málaga Office Studio Leader Rodrigo Carreño Alcántara and ARGO’s Dublin Office Project Architect Isabel del Mar Benítez Toledo recently attended the ###II Porcelanosa International Exhibition in Spain, an important industry event showcasing the latest innovations in architecture and interior design.

During the visit, they explored new collections and solutions from XTONE | Porcelanosa Grupo, Gamadecor | Porcelanosa Kitchens and butech | Porcelanosa Grupo, showcasing natural stone ranges, façade systems, pools, stair solutions, decorative mosaics, kitchens, and technical solutions.

It was a great opportunity to discover new products, learn about the latest developments in the sector, and gain inspiration from the wide range of design possibilities on display.

The Undora | Porcelanosa Grupo Collection is one of the most innovative interior finish systems we’ve come across at the exhibition. It combines recycled marble dust with a water-based resin to create an ultra-thin 8 mm panel ideal for decorative interior applications.

Another system that stood out to us is Porcelanosa's prefabricated bathroom modules. Each bathroom is completely manufactured in a controlled factory environment and then assembled on site, increasing construction efficiency and helping to reduce project costs.

Last week, Architect Fabiola López González from our ARGO Málaga Office was invited to attend the ‘Malaga Architecture and Interior Design Networking’ event organized by Grupo Vía and sponsored by Renson, Delabie, La Maison Walls, Manuel Larraga, and Bio Design.

It was an inspiring experience to exchange ideas and discover products that are redefining how we design spaces. Two solutions particularly caught our eye for their technical excellence:

: Their advanced climate control systems stood out for their technical precision. We closely examined their natural ventilation and solar shading solutions, which offer exceptionally constructive details for improving building efficiency.

From Dublin to Barbados

Originally from Dublin where he worked with us full time since 2018, is an Architectural Technologist based in our Barbados office after taking the opportunity to work in the Caribbean as part of an international experience programme between offices at Development Studio. In his job, he provides technical expertise and detailed solutions throughout the design development stage. With so much of ARGO’s work informed by digital construction, he uses construction technology to bridge the gap between design concepts and project delivery. With so many numbers and calculations a part of the job, according to Ameen, he’s never happier than when he’s “figuring things out”, and he works collaboratively on a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments.

In terms of what aspects he enjoys most about the role, it’s simple. To quote him: “It’s acting as part of a team bridging architecture, the environment and climate intelligence to deliver design excellence, enhanced wellbeing and long-term resilience.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Hot in Dominica……

Dominica in the Caribbean is often called "The Nature Island" because of its lush rainforests, waterfalls, and hot springs. The island is also home to another Argo Development Studio office headed by Studio Leader Antonio Rodriguez Toledo.

Comprising stacked cargo containers that have been re-purposed into a workspace over two levels, with a great café downstairs.

As the place of work for Antonio and his architectural colleagues, this office is a perfect example of the possibilities of working internationally and across many time zones and architectural styles.

Originally from Cuba, Antonio is a central part of the daily management and coordination that happens between teams. Indeed, it’s this that he cites as one of his favourite parts of the job. No day is ever the same as he and his team move between considering the latest, final phase work on Secret Bay, the six-star, all villa resort in Dominica, to collaborating with ARGO offices in Europe and Barbados on the Mandarin Oriental Grand Caymen development, and much more.

As Studio Leader at ARGO Dominica, client management, project delivery, team performance, and budget planning are daily elements of his job.

Asked to sum up how he sees the job, Antonio says: “We’re all different people with different styles but the SAME goals.”
