On Thursday, 07 May 2026, the Footwear Leathergoods & Accessories Exporters Association (FLAXA) proudly hosted its Members’ Night 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Hotel Sheraton Dhaka.

The evening was thoughtfully designed to highlight the Association’s key initiatives, foster knowledge-sharing through insightful sessions led by the FLAXA Board, and create a platform for meaningful interaction among our esteemed members.
We were delighted to see our members thoroughly enjoy the vibrant cultural performances that added warmth and spirit to the night.

আন্তর্জাতিক শ্রমিক দিবস শ্রমিকদের অধিকার ও মর্যাদার সংগ্রামের এক ঐতিহাসিক প্রতীক। শ্রমিকদের অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রমের ফলেই বাংলাদেশের চামড়াজাত পণ্য ও পাদুকা শিল্প রপ্তানিতে প্রায় ২ বিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলার আয় এবং বৈশ্বিক বাজারে একটি শক্ত অবস্থান অর্জনে সক্ষম হয়েছে।

শ্রমিকদের ন্যায্য মজুরি, স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষা, নিরাপত্তা এবং মর্যাদা নিশ্চিত করতে FLAXA এর মালিকপক্ষ স্রব্দা প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। শ্রমিকদের শ্রম, উদ্যোক্তাদের নেতৃত্ব এবং সরকারের সহযোগিতায় আমরা গড়ে তুলব একটি দক্ষ, আধুনিক, টেকসই ও শিল্পখাত।

FLAXA Board of Directors had a very constructive and positive meeting with Mr. Md. Mostaqur Rahman, Honourable Governor of Bangladesh Bank, on April 1 2026 at Bangladesh Bank Head Office.

Bangladesh Bank is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the export sectors through consistent support for trade facilitation, export promotion, investment inflows by implementing research-based economic reforms, and creating environment for sustainable growth.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Honorable Governor for engaging in inclusive and constructive dialogue with second largest export earning sector. This underscores Bangladesh Bank’s steadfast commitment to partnering with key stakeholders in advancing national economic objectives. We look forward to collaborating with Bangladesh Bank to further enhance export competitiveness and investment facilitation.

LFMEAB Rebrands as FLAXA at its 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Unveils its New Logo

Leathergoods And Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) has officially rebranded as the Footwear Leathergoods & Accessories Exporters Association (FLAXA). The new name and identity were formally unveiled during the Association’s 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Thursday, 05 March, 2026, at Hotel Renaissance, Gulshan, Dhaka. The rebranding reflects the inclusion of footwear and leather goods accessories factories aiming to strengthen the domestic supply chain and enhance global competitiveness.

The meeting was presided over by FLAXA President Mr. Syed Nasim Manzur. Among others present were FLAXA Vice Presidents, Directors, and representatives from member factories. During the meeting, President Mr. Syed Nasim Manzur presented the Annual Report for FY 2024-2025, highlighting the current global and national outlook of the industry, key initiatives undertaken by the Association, and an overview of its financial position. The President also welcomed 19 new members to the Association.

As Bangladesh’s second-largest export-earning sector, the industry has significant global standing, with Bangladesh ranking 7th in global footwear production and 15th in footwear exports worldwide.

LFMEAB, in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Seoul, successfully organized seminar on “Bangladesh: Your New High-Value Partner for Quality Leather Goods & Footwear” on 24 February 2026 at The Shilla Hotel, Seoul.

The seminar brought together distinguished stakeholders from Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea for strengthening collaboration in trade, sourcing, investment, and industry.
The event highlighted Bangladesh’s growing competitiveness in leather and footwear manufacturing; a strong export ecosystem, skilled workforce, cost-efficient production, and an industry increasingly aligned with global standards in sustainability and compliance. It also served as a strategic platform for investors seeking reliable supply chain partners and scalable manufacturing opportunities in one of the fastest-growing sectors of Bangladesh.

LFMEAB extends its sincere appreciation to all distinguished guests, business leaders, and potential investors whose engagement contributed to the success of this initiative.
