One of the questions I've been asked is: "What makes Lightning Bug different from using generic AI?"

The answer is simple.

I didn't create Lightning Bug to be an encyclopedia. I created it to be an extension of the way I've coached people for more than 20 years.✨

It's built from my lived experience facilitating workshops, leading teams, coaching educators, navigating difficult conversations, and helping people grow through communication.💙

That's why I wanted respected educator to test it with a real facilitation question.

What I love about the response is that it doesn't stop at the surface problem. It identifies the underlying pattern and then coaches through it using the same philosophy I bring to my workshops.

The goal was never to build another AI tool.

The goal was to make it feel like you still have me with you when the workshop is over.🙌🏽

One of the Greatest Gifts You Can Give a Client Is Your Attention.😉

One lesson I've learned after years behind the chair:
People don't just come to us for a haircut.✂️

They bring their celebrations, fears, stress, excitement, and stories with them. And for the time they're in our chair, they've trusted us with a small piece of their life.

It's easy to be thinking about the client who's running late, the one after that, or everything waiting for us outside the salon.

But the person sitting in front of us deserves our full attention.💯

Some of the most incredible people I've ever met came into my life because I slowed down long enough to truly listen.🙏🏽

For years, after workshops and trainings, people would often tell me: "I wish I could take you home with me as a resource during implementation."

What they were really saying was that the learning didn't stop when the workshop ended. In many ways, that's when it actually began.

The difficult conversations, leadership challenges, communication breakdowns, moments of uncertainty, and opportunities for growth tend to happen back in the real world when you're trying to apply what you've learned.

For more than 20 years, I've wished there was a way for me to continue supporting people through those moments.💯

“A thought has no power until it’s believed.”💯

This idea has always fascinated me.

Thoughts come and go throughout the day, but not every thought is true, useful, or worthy of our trust.

The thoughts we repeatedly believe eventually become the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what is possible, and how we relate to the world around us.

Perhaps one of the most important skills we can develop is learning to observe our thoughts before automatically accepting them as fact.🙌🏽

I recently asked my new AI Lightning Bug a facilitation question:

“How do I begin a class in a way that raises energy and encourages participation?”🙋🏾‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽

What struck me most was that the answer was not centered around performance or entertainment. Instead, it focused on presence, regulation, and connection.🙌🏽

It suggested beginning by taking a breath together to lower defensiveness and help regulate the room. It emphasized modeling presence as the facilitator, naming what is happening with the group, pausing to observe the room before pushing forward, and even offered guidance for moments where a facilitator may freeze under pressure.

That response captured exactly why I created Lightning Bug in the first place.💯

For years after workshops, people would tell me they wished they could continue asking questions and receiving support while implementing the work in real-life situations.

Lightning Bug was designed to help bridge that gap.🌟

I think a lot of people are navigating uncertainty right now, myself included.

And one thing I’m learning in this season is that courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is continuing to move forward while fear is still present.

That’s real life.🌟

There are moments where the future feels unclear, the pressure feels heavy, & the little voices in your mind become very loud.

But those are also the moments where growth, self-trust, resilience, & transformation are built.🙌🏽

Lately I’ve had to remind myself that fear may still ride with me sometimes…
but it doesn’t get to drive.😉

Because the open road is where life happens.‼️
