Fire is one of the gravest dangers of working onboard ships and it is therefore important to fight it efficiently for the safety of ships and life at sea. A fireman's outfit is used onboard ships which are donned by the firefighter designated to fight the fire. It is designed to keep the firefighter safe and provide him with adequate protection while fighting the fire. It is mandatory for all SOLAS-approved ships to carry a fireman's outfit onboard.
