ভ্যাট একটি পরোক্ষ কর যা সবাইকে প্রদান করতেহয়।
#যাদের_জন্য_মুসক (VAT) নিবন্ধন_বাধ্যতামূলকঃ
২০১২ সালের মূল্য সংযোজন কর ও সম্পূরক শুল্ক আইনে ভ্যাট নিবন্ধনের বাধ্যবাধকতা নিয়ে যা বলা হয়েছেঃ
ক) যাদের বার্ষিক বিক্রয় ৫০ লক্ষ টাকার কম, তাদের জন্য ভ্যাট নিবন্ধন বাধ্যতামূলক নয়।
খ) যাদের বার্ষিক বিক্রয় ৫০ লক্ষ থেকে ৩ কোটি টাকার মধ্যে, তারা টার্নওভার নিবন্ধন নিতে পারবে।
গ) যাদের বার্ষিক বিক্রয় ৩ কোটি টাকার বেশি, তাদের বাধ্যতামূলকভাবে ভ্যাট নিবন্ধন নিতে হবে।
তবে, নিন্মলিখিত ব্যক্তি/প্রতিষ্ঠানকে তার বার্ষিক টার্নওভার নির্বিশেষে (বিক্রয়ের পরিমাণ যাইহোক) বাধ্যতামূলক ভ্যাট নিবন্ধন ও কর প্রদান করতে হবেঃ
১) আমদানি রপ্তানি ব্যবসায় নিয়োজিত সকল ব্যক্তি / প্রতিষ্ঠান।
২) টেন্ডার / চুক্তি / কার্যাদেশের বিপরিতে পণ্য বা সেবা সরবরাহ করে এমন সকল ব্যক্তি/প্রতিষ্ঠান।
৩) সম্পূরক শুল্ক আরোপযোগ্য পণ্য/ সেবা সরবরাহ/উৎপাদন/আমদানি করে এমন সকল ব্যক্তি/প্রতিষ্ঠান। এবং
৪) সাধারন আদেশ-১৭ অনুসারেঃ
i) ৭৫ ধরনের পণ্য উৎপাদনকারীকে
ii) ৭৯ ধরনের সেবা প্রদানকারীকে
iii) ৭ ধরনের পণ্যের ব্যবসায়ী পর্যায়ের সরবরাহকারিকে
iv) সুপারশপ ও শপিংমলে অবস্থিত সকল ধরনের দোকান সমুহকে, এবং
v) যে সকল করযোগ্য পণ্য উৎপাদনকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানের ব্যবসাস্থল সিটি কর্পোরেশন ও জেলা শহরের অবস্থিত তাদেরকেও বাধ্যতামূলক ভ্যাট নিবন্ধন নিতে হবে ।

জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর) সম্প্রতি এক ঘোষণায় জানিয়েছে, ভ্যাট রিটার্ন অনলাইনে দাখিল করা অত্যন্ত সহজ। কাগুজে ভ্যাট রিটার্ন দাখিল করলে রিটার্নের তথ্য ভ্যাট অনলাইন সিস্টেমে কিংবা ভ্যাটদাতাদের সংরক্ষণে না-ও থাকতে পারে, যা ভবিষ্যতে সমস্যার সৃষ্টি করতে পারে। এমতাবস্থায় অনলাইনে ভ্যাট রিটার্ন দাখিল করে ঝামেলামুক্ত থাকার জন্য করদাতাদের প্রতি আহবান জানিয়েছে এনবিআর। মূল্য সংযোজন কর ও সম্পূরক শুল্ক আইনে নিবন্ধিত এবং তালিকাভুক্ত ব্যক্তিকে প্রত্যেক কর মেয়াদের জন্য কর মেয়াদ শেষ হওয়ার পরবর্তী মাসের ১৫ তারিখের মধ্যে দাখিলপত্র পেশ করতে হবে।
