What do a year of news reports tell us about tree logging in Bangladesh?

To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, we are pleased to share Logging of Trees in Bangladesh (2025–26), a report based on a year-long compilation and analysis of media reports documenting tree logging incidents across the country. The publication highlights patterns, concerns, and emerging trends related to tree loss and environmental governance in Bangladesh.

Over the past year, journalists and media outlets across Bangladesh have documented countless incidents of tree logging, bringing local stories and environmental concerns into the public eye. On the 4th of June, we launched "Logging of Trees in Bangladesh (2025–26)," a report that brings together and analyzes those media reports to better understand the scale and patterns of tree loss across the country.

We are grateful to all media professionals whose reporting contributed to this effort and helped keep the issue visible.
