Join us for a practical communications workshop exploring evidence from research in Khulna and tested framing tools that can help policymakers, community leaders, advocates, researchers, and communicators turn evidence into stronger public engagement and advocacy.

🌿 The RE-WET Experience Sharing Event, jointly organized by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and River & Delta Research Consultants Ltd. (RDRC), brought together public institutions, development practitioners, researchers, community representatives, local stakeholders, and media to share lessons from the restoration and sustainable management of Gulshan-Banani Lake.

RDRC actively participated in the session, contributing field-based research, knowledge, and perspectives on community-led development, nature-based solutions, climate resilience, inclusive urban development, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable livelihoods. The discussion highlighted how meaningful collaboration, local knowledge, institutional coordination, and community ownership can contribute to building more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cities. 🤝🌱

What do a year of news reports tell us about tree logging in Bangladesh?

To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, we are pleased to share Logging of Trees in Bangladesh (2025–26), a report based on a year-long compilation and analysis of media reports documenting tree logging incidents across the country. The publication highlights patterns, concerns, and emerging trends related to tree loss and environmental governance in Bangladesh.

Over the past year, journalists and media outlets across Bangladesh have documented countless incidents of tree logging, bringing local stories and environmental concerns into the public eye. On the 4th of June, we launched "Logging of Trees in Bangladesh (2025–26)," a report that brings together and analyzes those media reports to better understand the scale and patterns of tree loss across the country.

We are grateful to all media professionals whose reporting contributed to this effort and helped keep the issue visible.
