📢 Bangladesh Bank has issued a new consolidated circular on outward remittances!

FEPD-1 Circular No. 40 (30 September 2026) brings the rules for paying abroad on current account transactions — other than imports and transportation services — into one place. It updates FE Circular No. 37 and folds in every circular issued since September 2025.

Key limits to remember:
✅ USD 18,000 – annual personal travel quota (half for children under 12)
✅ USD 15,000 – medical treatment abroad
✅ 80% – expatriates' net income (after tax) remittable during the year
✅ 10% of net profit – subsidiary service payments to foreign parent/group
✅ 1% of prior-year sales or USD 100,000 (whichever is higher) – training & consultancy
✅ USD 40,000 – BASIS-recommended IT/software firms
✅ USD 30,000 – running costs of an office opened abroad

Also new: dedicated study-abroad cards, visa bond remittances, and bank-led cross-border digital wallets (Digital Value Accounts).
