Proud Moment: Taking Part in Academic Advances of Bangladesh Health

The founder and managing director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd., Dr. Nazneen Akhter, was one of 103 eminent health professionals who contributed to the "50 Years of Bangladesh: Advances in Health" book.
The book was first published on May 2023 and provides a thorough assessment of the nation's impressive advancements in healthcare over the last 50 years. This book, which consists of 20 enlightening chapters, is evidence of Bangladesh's constant dedication to enhancing the well-being of its population. The University Press Limited (UPL) is the publisher.
Dr. Nazneen Akhter covers a variety of subjects in this book, including adolescent health, their needs and vulnerabilities, emerging concerns, national responses, and sexual health.

Field Visits and Data Collection Commenced for Endline Study of Rohingya Refugee Camps'

The Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP) iii Consortium's CARE program, in collaboration with partners MUKTI and OPCA, made significant progress in assessing the impact of their interventions through comprehensive field visits and data collection in Rohingya Refugee Camps 13, 15, and 16 from May 21 to May 25, 2023. Led by renowned consultant Dr. Nazneen Akhter, the eight-person team, including Md. Arifur Rahman (Operation Manager) and Umme Suriea (Technical Coordinator & Quality Control), worked alongside six dedicated data enumerators to conduct the necessary assessments.

The purpose of the field visits was to carry out the Endline Study/Annual Assessment data collection, focusing on four key thematic areas: Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the CARE program and its partners in addressing the pressing needs of the Rohingya refugee population. Throughout the visits, the team diligently collected data from a wide range of sources. They engaged with community members, CARE staff, and partner organizations to gather qualitative and quantitative information. Interviews, focus group discussions, and observations were conducted to comprehensively evaluate the outcomes, challenges, and success stories of the program.

The field visits were made possible through the outstanding support provided by CARE Bangladesh, whose commitment and assistance proved instrumental in facilitating the smooth ex*****on of the assessments. Dr. Nazneen Akhter, the lead consultant, expressed her gratitude for CARE Bangladesh's fantastic collaboration and the commitment demonstrated by Md. Arifur Rahman and Umme Suriea. Their collective efforts ensured that the team had the necessary resources and support to conduct the field visits and gather crucial data.

Currently, VAALO is being engaged with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) for a Health Policy, Strategy and Implementation Guideline Documents development work. So far the assignment has got a significant mileage. Till now the inception has been approved by the client and major fieldwork has been completed.

on 30th April, 2023, the VAALO team sat with BDRCS about finalizing the further work plan with the time frame and the further process of developing the policy and strategy outline. The meeting was very effective and now team VAALO is looking forward to completing the assignment successfully as per the plan.

Study Report Presentation Meeting

VAALO has been working on a study assignment titled "A Perception Study on BDRCS Service Delivery on COVID-19" for a couple of months. After all the hard work and following a comprehensive process, the study finally has come to an end, as a result, the study report has been established as a distinguished deliverable of the assignment indeed.

Last Sunday, 30th April 2023, VAALO avant-garde Ltd. research team sit with the client- Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) about the final discussion of this study report. The meeting went effectively from both sides, now the VAALO team is on the way toward the final closure of the assignment. This perception study was an exemplary journey for the team where there were many new things to learn which will definitely help them in their future actions as a vital ground of experiences.

May Day, 2023
